Mummy and I are making UDON! Yay! We found a recipe online, and made a lot of subsitutions and came up with our own Americanized version of it. Here's the recipe, if any of you wanna try it! whee
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ingrediants:
1/2 lb. of sirloin beef
1 baby bok choy
2 cups of chopped carrots, onions, and celery (or other vegetables of your choice)
2 green onions
6 cups of beef broth
1/3 cup of soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 package (12 ounces) of udon noodles
3/4-1 cup of bean sprouts
Boil the udon noodles according to package. (Bring to boil, put in noodles, add 1 cup cold water, repeat 4 times, then add 1 tablespoon of salt and let steam for 15 minutes). Slice the beef into thin strips and brown in a frying pan. (If you can't stand touching raw meat, cut it into chunks and slice it when it's cooked).
Boil the vegetables (including the bok choy, but do not add bean sprouts immediantly.) Boil the vegetables until softened (about 3-4 minutes) and add the bean sprouts partway through. Put the beef broth, soy sauce, and salt in a large pot when the vegetables are boiled. Add beef, noodles, and seasonings of your choice and simmer this for 5 minutes.
