Photographer Defends Nude Photo

Unfortunately the photo is not shown. But it is a fairly good description of it. If you would like a copy, I will be more than happy to send it to you if I am able.
What are your opinions on this? This is a recent happening on my university and I was wondering how everyone would react to this?
(By the way registration is free if it asks you to register.)
The original photo appeared in the student publication of art, poetry and prose, called the Aerie. It is and has always been a wonderful publication of some of the best works of art on our campus. The Rebulican who created this controversy also started one about a year ago about the art program's use of nude volunteers to help the students understand how to draw the human body. And there was also a controversy about a sculpture in one of our buildings that has a woman figure with a snake between her legs (it was scultped after the student had taken a mythology course). I find it sad that it has come down to this, and wonder if this is really how most of humanity feels about art. If this is so, then shouldn't we, as art lovers, show the world how grand art really is and can be if properly appreciated?
Opinions? Comments? Arguments? Concerns?
All are welcome!
Thanks,
Rae
