Hello everyone! Can you believe how beautiful it was in Cali? *Sighs* The weather was absolutely perfect! Warm sunshine and a constantly pleasant temp made it a gorgeous trip. I didn't have time to visit the ocean this time since it was a weekend trip but--Lord and Lady!--I enjoyed it. First full day we had in California we went to Disneyland. We came at just the perfect time too. It had just been barely decorated for Halloween so there were pumpkin decorations everywhere in the shape of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. The whole entire set up was, in a word, enchanting. We went to Fantasy Land first (Since that is my favorite whee ) and hopped into all the kiddie rides. They brought back so many memories of my brothers and I when we were little. Of course, my favorite ride in Fantasy Land besides the Matterhorn is Peter Pan. And once you ride it I think you'll know why. wink One of the reasons I love Fantasy Land is that it feels so open. That and the fact that all over the place I saw tiny boys dressed up as pirates and small girls flouncing around in their princess dresses. whee I swear I almost fainted dead away at all the cuteness. I would surpress the girlie sound of 'Ooooooh...' and smile. My mom looked at me (She was having the same reaction as I was) and we made a pact. When I have a little boy we are going to take him to DisneyLand and we're going to dress him up as a pirate (or Peter Pan. That costume was adorable too. heart ) And when I have a little girl, we are going to take her to the Princess Shop very first thing and put her in a princess gown. heart Yes, dear ones, my mother and I are going to spoil my children like that whenever they decide to come along. I've never wanted to have children anytime soon but after seeing all these adorable little imps spinning in circles in the purest joy, I honestly just can't wait. heart heart heart Mother Night, it's going to be fun! Anyway, back on tangent. sweatdrop We went to all the good rides (except the Matterhorn was closed for repairs) like pirates, space mountain, Indiana Jones (Another personal fav.) and well, just about everything. We also went to the haunted mansion which is right now the grandest ride to play on. The decorations around the mansion were stunning! Black, skull mounted wreaths and candles, and the best part is that my mother and I are in the process of doing something very similar to our house. heart They have completely revamped the Mansion turning it into the Nightmare Before Christmas and it was downright cute! I could have easily spent a week there. And when night came we sat out infront of Sleeping Beauty Castle and watched THE best fireworks show I have ever seen! I can't even describe how gorgeous it was only say that I went back the next night to see it again. The next day the girlies split up and we headed on into California adventure which was a whole new experiance for me. One of the first things my mother and I did was go to Soaring over California. It had to be one of the most heartbreaking rides I've ever been on. For all of us who have dreamed of wings since our first breath would love it. It is the closest thing to flying the way we would with wings. To feel the wind and smell the leaves of trees. The scent of rushing water and even clouds. I loved it and damned it at the same time when it was done. To come so close to that feeling and then to have it end leaving you wanting more...it is something I wish to do again. Next was the Rapids. After having the unfortunate luck of sitting in front on splash mountain and getting absolutely soaked (I have to put in that I was wearing something very close to a white shirt) I was so glad that I was wearing a red shirt as again I got soaked. But it was so fun. I was also able to prove that the Indiana Jones hat I got was waterproof. Grin. It is an awesome hat. But there was one thing I was searching for my whole time in the two parks and I found it in California adventure. The Animation Studio. There we went to a little show were children got to talk to Crush from Finding Nemo and an Artists Workshop were I got some pointers of what to put in a portfolio if I wanted to work for Disney. There was also the Beast's Library: A place to do a personality test to see which Disney character you are like. Entering the library it had dark and ominous feel of the castle under the curse. Above a fire place, a portrait of the Beast in human form was hung, looking shreaded as it did in the movie. I was stunned at the dark beauty of the place. And then it changed. Suddenly the lights flared up and the room transformed into the glittering gold and rose library of the curse lifted. And the picture was restored. It was absolutely amazing! I couldn't stop laughing. And it wasn't the ammused laughing, but the laughing someone feels out of purest joy. But as glorious as that Library was, nothing prepared me for the lobby of the Studio. It is a huge domed room with dozens of screens along the walls. On those screens a show of art slides of background scenes, concept drawings, and stills were shown and at the same time clips of their respective films were shown. All of this was shown in a glorious montage blending the art, animation, and music from Disney's films from one to the other. That lobby, seeing and hearing all of that, and feeling every emotion from the artists from the paintings....that was the only site that has moved me so much that all I could do was stand there and take it all in with tears sliding down my cheeks. *laughs* The tears are starting just thinking about it. It is a high recomendation to visit the Studio... Anyway, the trip was a success as you can tell. Something I'd love to do again. Here is a truth: No matter how bad things can get, how wounded you can become; there are some magics that will never fade. You only have to embrace them.
