The Plastic Idol
The live I lead is better than yours
I can get anything I want, and more
Oozing insincerity from my every pore
Lifeless down to the rotten core.
Don't you all wish you were me,
Attending every wild party
Part of every forgotten memory
Drowning in my own hypocrisy?
I'm plastic, nothing but drunken nights and ******** buddies.
I'm plastic, as ungenuine as a toy in a Happy Meal.
I'm plastic, you can peer right through and into me.
You're plastic, empty and heartless so you don't have to feel.
When the party's over, and everyone leaves,
Do you see the emptiness of what you've weaved?
These people love you today, but will they tomorrow?
Or will the fake souls find another to follow?
Tear down the plastic idol from its pinnacle
You will be left alone with your mind, so cynical
Of others, but avoiding the plastic hear that beats inside.
