It's funny that I mentioned ProJared. He ended up disappointing me later on.

Before you’ve met someone, you have a concept of them in your head. You imagine them to be a certain way, have certain qualities, and when you meet them you compare your expectation with the reality. Think of celebrities or people you get exposure from media.
I have a certain concept of ProJared, and maybe I will feel like I know him really well, when in reality I only experience one side of him. His personal side, the real him, is unknown, and it’s when the concept meets the reality that you.
This same thing happens with countries, cultures, and places.
Sometimes when it’s cultures, your mind’s concept is fantastic and a novelty. (Think people who are obsessed with Japan.)
