Well, all good things come to an end. This particular one just came to an end about two months ago. I'm now down to one job although right now I'm thinking it's a good thing. As much as I loved working at GameStop, there was just no point in working there anymore. To those who don't know I'll enlighten the situation.
It was shortly after our previous store manager, Gus, moved back to California and Hayden (the now current store manager) was transfered to our store. Things were fine for a few weeks and then it all got shot to hell. First after practically offering management positions to both me and Amary, he hired someone else who didn't have a clue as to what was going on and this brand-spanking new 3rd key manager didn't do anything that he was supposed to do and it fell to Amary, Mediera, and me to pick up the slack and do his job as well as our own. Needless to say the Coven was ever so pissed.
Things then progressed to where Haydon wasn't doing his job either. So that added to the new managers load that the Coven and the Assistant manager, Matt, had to pick up. All the while the Coven was getting treated like...well...women who lived at least a good 1,000 years ago. That also made us unsheath our claws and mutter.
As time went by, the 3rd Key got better as he realized that pissing off the Coven is a really bad idea...and Hayden just got worse. With him it just was one thing after another that he didn't do that made our store function just about as well as a brain with an axe embedded in it. Yeah, real nice.
Mediera was the first of the Coven to hand in her two weeks notice. After having Hayden treat her like offal everyday and doing nothing while a few customers were sexually harrassing her, she had had enough.
Amary and I still held out some hope that we'd get Hayden fired and were always gaining information and handing it to Matt and Kathy, the district manager. Even though Hayden was basically breaking every rule known to man, she did nothing. Yet we still tried because the store was suffering because of him.
Anyway, position for 3rd Key management opened up again and I was interested but I already had my other job at the lingerie store that paid just as much. I didn't need the 3rd Key. I suggested to Matt and Hayden to give it to Amary since she's getting married soon and needed more than I did. Apparently, everyone else thought the same thing. Except Hayden. The man kept trying to push me into quitting my other job and taking the position of 3rd Key. I don't like to be pushed around by bastards. I had enough of that with my father. So, needless to say, I wasn't too happy about this but I still refused the postion and tried to get him to give it to Amary.
For the last little while, Hayden has been treating Amary like crap, not giving her barely any hours and nothing worth the gas it takes to drive there. And he didn't give her the position. It took him weeks to hire someone else and he still hasn't trained them.
So both, Amary and me are pissed that he did that. He is still bending the rules and being an a** to the two members of the Coven that still worked there. And all the while, we pleaded with Kathy to do something since she's fired people for far less. And now she's finally made her decision. She's transfering Matt to another store and bringing in another assistant manager. And this solves our problem how? Amary turned in her two weeks and I turned mine in the next day as soon as I found out. I have no faith in the corporate system and I have no faith in Kathy anymore. If she's too scared to fire someone who can't do the job and then turn around and transfer the only manager who actually does something then there is no point in dealing with the stress of working there anymore.
So there you have it. What was once a joy and pleasure to work there has turned into a sad tale. So I will no longer be working at Game Stop. Fun fun. I'll say 'adieu' to them and focus on working myself into the ground until Silver comes home. I'll probably start looking for another job, knowing me. rolleyes
