As Mr. Tolouse made his way carefully down the long hall which had been carved into the stone with cells also carved into the walls every few feet, though many of these had not been used in many many ages it seems, and even then so many where damaged, where time had collapsed the ceiling or made the iron of the bars so rusted and corroded that they could not be budged.

Finally coming to the furthest end of the hall he found the stairway that was hidden as part of the wall which was hiding it had started to crumble from what seems to be water damage as much of the stone was and is covered in moss and lichen even the bits that had fallen to the floor.

Slowly and carefully he made his way up the stairs, as each step was a bit wet and covered in a sheen of moisture his feet sliding a little as he planned each step and held the walls.

The walls where also covered in moss and small plants in many places, "How long has this place been out of use?" he thought as he started to dlip on one step and caught a very sturdy plant growing out of a crack in one wall,

"Well I guess it saved me this time, so I shouldnt be bad mouthing any of this" as he regained his footing and continued to step little by little up the stairway, and finally after what seemed years made it to the last few steps though he carefully stepped up to the entry way to see what lay beyond it, as much of it laid in darkness.

Letting his eyes adjust to the lower light he could make out just barely, there was a long grotto before opening out into a courtyard with many larger buildings in it some of them crumbling and some in relatively good shape with only light damage due to age,,,,,,,but then there seemed to be other damage like ...a blackening ...fire perhaps along the windows and some of the actual streets between looked blackened, "Something incredibly bad must have happened here."

As he carefully stepped out from the doorway and watched for any movement or for that matter to see if any danger way imminent, but saw nothing in any direction just more of the same, small courtyards repeated and buildings placed around them in a circular fashion.
