There will be no fantasy in my journal tonight. That's because there was a classmate of mine who was badly injured during tonights basketball game against Oak Hill. I didn't see what happened, but apparently he was knocked down. He recieved a pretty bad head injury, and started convulsing on the floor, unconscious.
I was up in the balcony with our pep-band, playing my piccolo.
His mom was amazing. She didn't scream or cry or anything. In fact, I think Ryan himself and the paramedics that came to take him to the hospital were freaking out more. Maybe she was just in shock. I know I would be if my son was just laying on the far end of the court like that. Heck, I was terrified just watching.
The room was almost dead silent during all of this, and I could hear the people clustered around him calling to him, asking if he could hear them or open his eyes. When they took him out to the ambulace, the room exploded into applause. None of us in the pep-band wanted to play after that, so we all whent home. I was writing all this in my notebook as it happened.
I feel sick.
