A Book of Poems
A book of poems,
Where to begin?
Do I start at the beginning?
Or do I start at the end?
The Birthday Gift
It's your birthday,
hooray for you.
And come the guests,
two by two.
We all stand around,
till someone says,
"Lets think of some games to play!"
Tag or Twister?
Trouble or Clue?
"Since it's your birthday,
we'll let you choose.
But before you do,
we have one thing to say:
FOOD FIGHT!
And so it began...
Fifteen minutes later,
the room is a mess.
And there sits your mom
rather distressed.
"Time for presents!"
somebody shouts.
They hand you a package
while they all sit around.
Notebooks and Gift Cards,
Videos and Games,
Nothing that different,
yet nothing the same.
Up comes a girl,
scraggly and tall.
She holds no present,
nothing at all.
"I didn't know it was you birthday,
till just the other day.
If I had known sooner,
I'd have a present for you today."
She bends down to were you sit,
and kisses you on the cheek.
"I hope you like your present,
although it may seem cheap.
To some it is special,
to some not that nice
But today is your birthday,
so it's you who must decide."
Seed
Oh where to begin?
I guess it starts,
When I was dropped on the ground
In an empty lot.
I laid there for days,
Even weeks!
Finally I started to grow
Into a large tree.
In spring,
I blossomed.
In autumn,
Fruit fell.
In winter,
I was naked and bare.
And in summer,
There were leaves to wear.
Centuries passed
As I lived on.
Until one day,
When I was gone.
I was cut, torn down,
I was in the way.
For a new mall,
And I didn't have a say.
So my life came to an end,
And I was sold for lumber instead.
And now just one more word,
Mall's STINK, cause trees get hurt!
The Plot of Life, and the Path of Destiny
What of life?
Do we sit here, day after day,
Watching its plot twist and turn
In it's never ending rthyme?
Or do we seize it,
Molding it into the lifetime of our dreams
And casting it forward, ahead of us
Forming our own road?
Many sit there,
Unable to build up the courage
to stand against destiny
and it's will.
But those who rise and meet it,
Forming their own path.
Seize life and destiny,
And form your own dreams.
Dreams of the Mind
How can one sleep?
When their head is swimming
With ideas and thoughts.
When their imagination is running loose
Among fields of grass,
And oceans deep depths?
And how can one stop themselves
From exploring this new and exciting world
Which was made just for them?
Running past things
that can only appear in their wild dreams.
Flying past the clouds
On wings of gold,
That cast a blinding light past the sun.
Let your mind carry you
Into a realm much different
From the world we know,
And may your dreams help you fly!
My Dreams
My dream will never end
My dream can only start
My dream will never die,
Cause it's always in my heart
And though I fall and cry,
and thinks it's out the door
My dream can never die,
It'll live on forever more
My dream,
to touch the clouds,
to reach the sky,
to see the world,
and fly up high.
To watch the stars,
to be in your heart
And I somehow know,
I've been there from the start
Watchin' the clouds float by,
Watchin' the people walk past
They don't see the girl,
behind the glass
Sittin' in the shop all day,
Watching the world waste away
I want to fly up,
fly up to the sky.
My dream,
to touch the clouds,
to reach the sky,
to see the world,
and fly up high.
To watch the stars,
to be in your heart
And I somehow know,
I've been there from the start
Let me fly,
spread my wings
Let me soar,
Let me sing
about my dreams
My dreams...

Where the Idea's came from:
-Book of Poems
Like it says, I didn't know where to begin with my english project. I just typed it up on a whim...so it doesn't have any real meaning. The only one I didn't use for my project because it was Way to short in my opinion.
-The Birthday Gift
I totally didn't know when my boyfriends' birthday was until two days before it. I was kinda mad that I never can remember anyone's birthday (Not even my families), so I sort of typed it up and revised it after before sending it to him. I did give him a kiss on the cheek on his real birthday, so the poem turned out nicely.
-Seed
Just something wacky I wrote while I was listening to my Mom's music lesson (Which is VERY boring). I guess the last line came from the fact that I hate it when I go shopping with my parents because my Mom drags me everywhere, and my feet hurt after, and She tries to get me to try on VERY dorky clothes. Though shopping with just my sister or friends is Loads of fun!
-Plot of Life and the Path of Destiny
Yet another written on a whim. It turned out kinda dark when it was done, but I used it in the project anyways. I was listening to some classical music I think, and It kept on going between dark and slow to fast and cheery...
-Dreams of the Mind
Something I wrote for Zanon's birthday card. It's cliche yes, but it turned out nice anyways. I had just gotten up that morning so I still had some dream framents running around in my head so I wrote this on a whim again. Wrote this a few das after the project so it wasn't one of them...
-My Dreams
I do alot of cliche things sometimes when I'm home alone. I started singing this when, and don't laugh, I saw the beginning song to pokemon when I was flipping channels. Yes, retarded Pokemon gave me the idea...but oh well. This was my teachers favorite even if it was cliche and Missyuchiha is going to kill me if I don't print her a copy, so I better get going.
