I feel like I have to write in this thing every month. I don't know why...I used to write in it almost every day. sweatdrop And Aeren is love. heart Anyway, here goes.
Gaia News
Avatar Arena
I got 22nd with my Fish Wizard outfit. Freakin' 22. eek That's...amazing. I didn't expect to get so high. Thank you, everyone who voted. crying heart heart Let's see if the next one I enter can get higher. 4laugh
And I received a lot of nice compliments and even tips on how to improve it. 3nodding Thanks again.
Donation Items
Ahh...time to reminisce...Remember when Sealed Envelopes didn't exist? And scams were running rampant? How you had to reserve a Letter and send a trade in the beginning of the month, and pray that your supplier wouldn't cheat you by not giving you your Letters by the 25th? I, fortunately, never got scammed. But really, I shouldn't talk since Sealed Envelopes were introduced a few months (or less) after I joined Gaia. <_< Many people can claim to know of a Letter-free Gaia. That is, before June 2003. xd
Sealed Envelopes, by the way, are pure genius. I remember one of my high school teachers saying that a truly genius idea is one that no one had thought about before, but one that everyone could have thought of for themselves after the fact. I should know that Gaian's username...but I don't. (Can anyone find it?) Thanks to him or her for that brilliant piece of work.
Anyway, I guess the new release at the 15th of the month is...nice? At first I had some reservations, but I suppose I was just clinging to tradition. Economically, however, I thought they might pose a problem. The Angelbow was really popular at its release. The point is, popular items jack up the prices. I thought that the inflation would make it difficult to get a donation item, because I'm kind of stingy when it comes to paying for donation items. sweatdrop But now, two weeks after they opened, I find I can still get Letters. An earlier release means more people can buy them if they like them, and sell them. So I suppose it just takes a bit of adjusting and a lot of patience to get a good deal on the donation items. whee
Fanime
I've been looking at some of the fanime pictures...I want to go someday. But then I'd be freaked to meet people in real life. eek I'm pretty shy, so I'd have no idea what to say if I met someone I knew on Gaia, especially at something like a convention. sweatdrop
Casino
I've started playing the Casino, and getting addicted. It's faster than Fishing, so I can quit when I want to. But that just means more play time. <_< Ahem. I don't think I want any Casino item badly, but it's nice to not have to pay double the price of an item. But the dealers are horrible cheaters. My sister saw me playing it, and could not believe the "Cheat" button existed. I agree with her. I can just imagine years from now when the n00blings get to gambling age (heck, probably before) and ask someone "Where's the Cheat button???!!one!". xd
School | Work
School
I'm doing both at the same time. And not doing so well, school-wise. I had a lab report due today. It took me three days to complete. ._. Sure, I procrastinated, but it was still such a pain. Gah...Think I would've learned by now, but apparently not. crying
Work
Work-wise, I'm having fun. You know you're a complete and utter geek when you like wearing your labcoat. That's me. sweatdrop
I've made a few dumb mistakes already, and I'm getting scared for what I have to do later on. I'll have a lot of responsibility. I really can't screw up. gonk And apparently I don't understand the concept of lunch hour. xd I always feel like I have to be working. Even if I'm taking lunch, I feel like I should be doing some job-related reading or something. And I feel guilty taking a whole hour to eat lunch. I can eat in 15 minutes...the rest of the 45 minutes should be spent doing work! ...Really, I'm not a workaholic. sweatdrop I guess it's because I'm doing school at the same time, and can't work the full hours that others do. So I feel I should make up for lost time anyway I can. confused
But the people I work with are really great. This is the best job I've ever had...although I haven't had all that many. <_< They're really funny and talkative. I like that since I'm quiet, and I don't have to do the talking. One of my coworkers was surprised that I remembered something from last week that she was supposed to do, but didn't. And she wasn't even talking to me in particular about it. I'm a good listener. ninja I'm such a prude, though, compared to them.
Anime Music
BLEACH
I've been slowly catching up to BLEACH. I'm on episode 60-something. But I'm finding that I really like the ending music to it. "Life is Like a Boat" is one of my favourite anime songs. I first heard it on kawaii-radio and instantly fell in love with it, before I even saw the anime. I think I mentioned it before in one my entries. The lyrics are beautiful, the melody nice, and everything else about it is great. heart
The second ending theme is HOME MADE KAZOKU's "Thank You!!". The song grew on me, mainly because of instrumental introduction, and I ended up liking the whole thing. In general, I like female Japanese singers more than male ones (they're a male group), so I'm glad I'm broadening my horizons. xd
Then it was Younha's "Houkiboshi" which gets stuck in my head because it's so energizing and uplifting. ^_^
Then it's YUI's "LIFE". Although the lyrics are kind of weird (at least the translated ones I found), I liked the line "I can change my life" and her hopeful and determined voice.
I'm not particularly fond of "My Pace"...but it might grow on me with time. Neither do I like "Happy People". (I didn't even bother looking up the artists' names sweatdrop ) I need to get a "Best of BLEACH" CD whenever something like it comes out, just for the openings and endings (long versions). The openings are OK, but I like the endings more.
I'm one of those people who ends up liking anything if I play it enough. ^^;;
...This Journal has really gone down the drain. I have nothing to write about, and when I do think up something half-way interesting to write about, I forget about it by the time I get around to adding an entry. Apologies. xp
