I almost forgot how much I love books.
I recently started work in the downtown area of a small town. There are half a dozen bookstores right next to each other 5 minutes from where I work.
This is almost a bad thing. >_>
Most of the bookstores I've been to lately are those big, commercial chain stores. Not that there's anything wrong with this, but there's something to be said about little shops.
The ones downtown are piled floor-to-ceiling with books. Some are on tables, some on shelves, some placed almost haphazardly in piles on the ground. Some are in bad condition, some brand-new. And the stores smell like books. And all of the books are priced much, much lower than the printed price.
I think I'm going to be spending my lunch hour at these stores for a while. Hopefully my entire paycheque won't be going the same way. XD
