The lightning illuminated the lake before him. The apprentice of Ruiku shifted uncomfortably behind him. "Do not fret. she will come." The rain created a wall of which sight could not penetrate. But he did not need sight. He could feel her presence, her anger. She was close and traveling fast. This isn't like her, He thought, Even that I have her apprentice she would pause to get ready to fight me.
He pulled back his hood and turned as she ran into the clearing. She glanced at her apprentice then at him. His violet eye mocked her as if to say, "You have lost any ground you had once gained on me. You are nothing compared to me."
He stepped towards her and she instinctively placed her hand to were her dagger once was. She grimaced when she realized in an earlier battle he had taken it. He twirled the dagger in his hand mocking her again. That was it!
She moved so fast that she was merely a blur and appeared behind him. He smirked and grabbed her arm. His other hand still hand the dagger and he plunged it into her stomach.
"You have twenty minutes to continue your worthless existence on this plane." He quickly withdrew the dagger, threw it into the lake and walked away.
