Dark Angels: Little is known about these solitary creatures unlike their similar enemies the Angels (see Volume 1, page 130).These seemingly aggressive, and quite intimidating creatures have extremely close bloodlines that live together in groups called clans and work together to better their village. If you are lucky enough to befriend one you’ll find they aren’t really scary at all and you may have a friend for life but history makes it clear to them they should stay away from others. Training start at the age of eighteen when their rapid growth, equivalent to that of a human, slows dramatically. A Dark Angel unless instructed by the lead family almost never leaves the area surrounding the clan unless to visit an elven (See Volume 2, page 235) civilization which are one of the few races they are close with. The Dark Angels natural enemies are the Angels who only differ from them in wing color, life span, and vulnerability to magic. However the great wars were stopped by a group of seers from both races and now command both races.
Appearance: Most Dark Angels stand about six feet tall and very few are shorter. They have black wings, which eventually earned their named from the humans (see volume 2, page 389). Their hair color is always black but with the slight tint of another color ranging from red all the way to purple, their eyes also could be any color.
Origin: Little is known about this other than the Dark Angel folklore it is said that the lead clan, Shadow clan (Led by Remulus and Wren), can trace it’s roots back to the shadow god Drent. However what is know is they were originally guardians of the forests and skies but as the human population increased and they were seen as demons and their forests were being cut down and their skies polluted they developed their protect your own mentality and took up the more demanding jobs of the time as being mercenaries or assassins to try and restore order. ~Excerpt from Creatures of Palresena'Esum: An Encyclopedia of the Species of The Eighth Continent and Their Origins
