My Two Cents
Okay. So here's the deal, I have encountered several of my buddies who are currently in the Armed Forces being complete dicks to civilians. Granted most are Marines (Doesn't exclude the other branches) but being in the Military does not give you the right to be a complete a** to a civilian. To go into more detail on this, If a civilian is wearing an outdated Uniform like the Army Combat Uniform or the ERDL Battle Dress Uniform these guys get angry and claim "You don't deserve to wear that uniform! You didn't work for it!" Okay. At this point I'm laughing (Seriously I'm actually laughing as I type this) because it's literally cotton and Nylon fiber. It doesn't mean anything. It's just to represent your Unit, Regiment, Division, Etc. It doesn't mean s**t, you are serving in the Armed Forces, that should be enough. But when the civilian market sells Uniforms to civilians you have absolutely no room to be an a*****e to them. I would understand if Uniforms were only sold to personnel and a civilian was wearing them but when it comes to the uniforms being readily available to civilians it means nothing. It's nylon and cotton, it doesn't mean that you worked for the Uniform, because if you actually worked for just the Uniform I feel real sorry for you. You went through basic training for the honor of being in the respective branch be it Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, and Army. The Uniform is worn to make the Military seem more uniform (Pardon the pun). If everyone is wearing different uniforms then you'd have a mob. It's like if you had 300 people all wearing different clothes. But when you stick say an ACUPAT Uniform on those 300 people you have an organized known force. What I'm saying is don't act like you earned the Uniform because you didn't. You were ISSUED that uniform. It's like saying a Garbage man earned his uniform. No. It's to distinguish him from the general population.
