A few minutes past and nothing happens. Everyone's silent, until a groan comes from Piers. His left eye opens, the other one covered, and he sighs,"What happened?"
"You were hit by one of the lickers. You need rest, we'll be in another town soon."
His voice started weak, but has regained some strength,"Chris, is he alright?"
Chris,"I'm fine, thanks to you. Try to rest."
He half smiles and closes his eyes.

We make it to a BSAA facility somewhere in California. Piers has fallen asleep. When we get there, I get out and feel a sharp pain in my side. Feeling my side, I now see the blood. I saw some there originally, thinking it was from Piers. Theres more than there was before. They take Piers and Chris gets out next to me. At first, he doesn't see the blood because I have my jacket on. Chris,"Are you alright?"
He's better than he was. The blood has stopped for him. When the licker tried to hit him, he force the licker up. It prevented most of the strike.
"Yeah..."
He walks infront of me and sees the blood,"What happened?"
"I don't know."
Chris sighs,"The bullets the licker threw back. It dodged two of them right? That must be what it is. You we're caught up in helping me. It's my fault.....We need a medic!"
"Piers needs them more than I do."
I take a step forward and the pain shoots through my body. My left side of my stomach is in pain. I grab it with both hands and start to fall forward. Chris grabs me before I can,"We need a medic! Now!"
