A Clock-Work in Time
Back in the time when cars were simple horses and carriages. When men courted the women and status was a must. There was a young man by the name of Jonathan Woodworks and he was very skilled with his hands. Jonathan sculpted puppets, beautiful, life like puppets. Women adored them and to own one of his was every little girls dream.
Jonathan like any man had a weakness; He adored the most beautiful woman in Claramont. He had to make her his, so he would court her every day and shower her with many gifts. But she never once looked his way. Until one day when Jonathan was in a puppet making slump he decided that a late night stroll would clear his head. It was there on the bridge of the moonlit river he saw her. Ms. Lillith Clearview, the most wanted woman and the hardest of them all to get. She was standing over something dark, and what Jonathan could make out, a smile on her face.
He approached her with a smile of his own ready to try to win her heart but paused in fear. For she was standing over a lifeless body, knife in hand and blood running down her dress. Fearful he ran to her to make sure she was alright, but when she looked over at the man her hollow gaze made him come to a stop. Realization sunk in then that she had murdered that man…she was the one behind the horrific killings these past months and he could be her next victim.
Lillith approached him, her smile growing and she spoke that he had witnessed her crime and he too must die. Jonathan just whispered to her that even drenched in blood she is the most beautiful woman in the world to him. His words swirled around her and caused her to stop in her own tracks. This time he walked up to her and pulled her into his arms, and kissed her passionately. You are mine.
Jonathan and Lillith lived together, married, happy and in love for years. They shared her horrible secret but he didn’t have a care in the world he loved her so. But their happiness could never last. The town’s police was hot on her trail, doomed to catch her soon. And so they did…
When Jonathan came home from a trip he found his beautiful beloved Lillith in a pool of her own blood. He cried out in pain, tears staining his cheeks and he fell to his knees beside her lifeless body. Jonathan held her pale hand in his, raising it to his forehead. “Lillith…..Lillith…..LILLITH!” He screamed her name over and over again as he felt his heart break. Not only did they take his beloved but they murdered the man’s soul.
