Life. It's life. It's where you are born, live a life, and die. Does anyone question this life they life in? Life, seems so simple, considering it's almost free. Almost. That was the wrong word.
They call in freedom. They call it right of speech. They call it right of action. They call it right to do what they please. But in reality. It is actually restricted. It is hate speech. It is trying to harm others. It is harming others for one's entertainment.
Speaking of freedom. Is our world really free?
Quote: According to dictionary.com, Freedom is: A noun 1. the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint: He won his freedom after a retrial. 2 exemption from external control, interference, regulation, etc. 3. the power to determine action without restraint. 4. political or national independence. 5. personal liberty, as opposed to bondage or slavery: a slave who bought his freedom.
For today, let's borrow definition number 3 to discuss on.
The power to determine action without restraint.
Nowadays, teenagers as well as adults and maybe even children, has a lot of choices to face. Whether in school, in the playground, or at work, decisions will appear and we all have to face these problems every day.
"What should I wear today?" "Should I wear my black shoes or my white shoes? Or maybe my red shoes?" "Which suitcase should I take to work?" "Which bus looks empty?" "What will my friends think if I am wearing this shirt?" "Should I get a nose pierce?"
Yes that's right, I know you are thinking about this.
If freedom is about 'determining action without restraint', why are we thinking about these trivial matters? Because of all these freedoms we as human beings get, we aren't actually getting freedom. We are literally being restrained by these freedoms.
Ironic isn't it?
Okay, before you 'because I am a girl' crap campaigns stalk me. Or maybe if you are part of some organization that doesn't agree with this (Due to others around the world, specifically 3rd world countries), I get your point. Let me continue.
Okay, about 3rd world countries. YES, they are starving. YES, kids are dying out there. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT??? I am sure, they don't have as much to worry about. Yes, let me explain my point.
If you saw the questions I posed earlier, realize that they are all trivial and strange matters that seem utterly pointless and I KNOW you are all thinking about. These people don't deal with this. Instead, they deal with physical work that they worry about.
But hey, we have that to. You aren't an exception.
The real questions that these 3rd world people face are:
"How can I get food on the table?" "Can I afford school?" "Where can I get clean water?"
Okay, these questions are much more productive. Compared to our, "WHY DIDN'T I GET A 200% ON MY ENGLISH TEST??"
As much as they will never be free from physical labour, but hey. We deal with that too. I go to school. You probably go to collage. The neighbour down the street probably I mean most likely working.
Just the 3rd world people has one less thing to worry about. No mental stress. They can truly focus on living.
And that my friend, is freedom.
See, in this society, we have so much decisions, we can't make any! And even if we do, are these questions getting us anywhere in life? Will they save our lives? Are they productive?
Usually the answer is no.
I have come to a conclusion that because of all the 'freedoms' we get in life. Such as 'freedom of speech' and such that I do not want to explain, we do not really live in a world of freedom.
Do you realize how much stress and effort we put into answering these questions and making these much decisions? This is why half of us are stressed in this world! Is this the meaning of freedom?
I'll leave that for you to decide.
Yeah, I know what you are thinking. I am going crazy.
That's right. I am.
Anyway, I am done. This is a rant. Please no hating on it. -phew...-
P.S If I offended anyone, I am deeply sorry. Really. I am...
