Newfound independence led me to love,
God said, "you're ready, so get what you want."
Waiting patiently I and smiled and lived out my life,
To find myself a year later with him by my side.
I knew what I wanted bit I didnt really care,
If it happens, so be it, but I wont cry 'cause I'm not there.
A simple joke, though careless as it was,
Set up a platform for what was to come.
Standing by the courts, anxious at unkowns,
Hand behind my back, crossing fingers at "I dont knows."
I can recall my eyes widening as he set foot on the ground,
thinking, "this is out of my league, I should probably run now..."
My confidence was hard to carry, and my voice screamed shy,
But I didnt really care, I was going to at least try.
His nerves left much confision, but I still stuck it out,
I am thankful for each of our friends without a doubt!
Intelocking fingers with the streets to ourselves,
Contemplating reality in which I've never felt.
In the end I promised this time I would go slow,
Cheek to lips was an accident in which I couldn't say no.
"You gave me butterflies", rang in my head for days,
"At the mailbox", Seriously, it wouldnt go away....
"You gave me butterflies", and once more,
Sometimes you find what you arent even looking for...
at the mailbox....that isnt there.
(Oh my gosh I found this on the internets by chance, Im pretty darn sure theyre little hedgiehogs. What are the odds of that!)
