* I think I finally put my finger on what made me so uncomfortable about the second Bo Burnum special: it's the depth of the self loathing. That can't be healthy.

* I have had my issues with Jesse Jackson in the past, (Antisemitic and anti-gay comments, back before many of you were old enough to notice politics, I suspect), but I am truly grateful to him for being out there in the front fighting Republican attempts to disenfranchise large portions of younger, older, and poor voters in the mid western and southern states. This stuff is important and it effects things for a log time to come.

* House Republicans and some coal state Democrats voted to repeal the Clean Water Act. After all, wouldn't we all be better off going back to the day of rivers so polluted they caught on fire? Let's hope the senate democrats have spine.

* In Egypt, they are protesting for "freedom, social justice, and bread," due to the slowness of change under the military government.

* The U S justice department has announced an official investigation of News Corp.

* FOX News is pretending the News corp scandal isn't happening for the most part. After all, reality isn't fitting ideology here, so clearly it can't be news, right?

* It will be fascinating to see if the scandal takes down the Wall Street Journal.
