"But why not Terika?" he asked when he'd finally gotten back to the Inn. "It would be more useful than just wandering around until someone decides 'well now, I need this done no matter what' or needing backup and hiring it." "But it costs money..." she replied weakly. "And we have more of it than anyone else here!" "There are fees, and there's so much work involved..." Eryan gave her a look, one that was mirrored my the tiny dragon on his shoulder. She looked at both of them and sighed. "It was that last comment, wasnt it?" He nodded. "That was pretty weak, especially after your 'take on the world' speech right after I crawled out of Hades." She shook her head. "It'll never work- there are permits and things required." "Hrej said he'd take care of it, if we were interested." "That old Dwarf?" she looked a bit stunned- understandable as she'd known the dwarf to get close to blows with guilds in the past. "Hrej, the guy who tends to scare guilds into leaving this town for generations?" "Yep. The way he put it made me want to do it. We'd be small for a while, and we'd have to base ourselves somewhere, but it might work out, you know? And with a guild license we'd not have to come back to one of these cities for fifteen years!" It troubled Terika- it really did. Hrej was known for not liking guilds- he'd gotten his name, Steelbender, from crushing the armor of one of the better known guild's masters. Even scarier was the fact that he'd gotten away with it. Plus, it wasnt like the Descendants of the King hadnt applied or tried to make a guild for years before Eryan had been born- she herself had been turned down for admissions multiple times- quite politely mind you, but turned down all the same. "Well, if we're going to do this, it's going to take a few more than just us two and Hrej- let me talk with some of our 'associates' and see if they like the idea. You should go to the market and get that sword while we're here." It was almost too good to be true... but if it was true, it would be amazing.... Eryan could see that pushing would be detrimental at this point to his cause. "Alright. I'll be back later I guess- I get the feeling that the ones you hang out with dont like me too much. Lets go Wyrm." he said, and with a small hug to his teacher, he left.
