she said, "Joseph sent me your the latest Zuivere ziel" then she walked away. I took off in the opposite my mind racing, 'who was Joseph, and the latest Zuivere ziel? What was she talking about?'
Then a kid not much older then me maybe a year stopped me before i could get home. He looks at me from my brown hair to my plain black and white tennis shoes. I couldn't help but feel a little bit self-conscious. He looks down at me at about 5''11" he's tall with brown hair and blue eyes.
He Says "Zuivere ziel you have arrived at last welcome to the eternal word" i look at him blankly and try to side step around him but he obviously knew what I was trying to do and stopped me. "I never caught your name,"he said not as a question but as a statement.
"Z-Zoey"I studered, my name wasn't really Zoey it was Tylyn but I didn't trust this guy one bit. "Wait I know you your in my algebra class" I said finally realizing who he was but i couldn't place a name to his face.
"Joseph" he said reading my facial expression. "Listen for the next few days your going to be followed by some creepy guys I'm going to need you to run and run as fast as you can, and what ever you do don't let them get that bracelet of yours Tylyn."he said.
"wait, WHO are you?" I asked i never had told him my name and he never talked to me.
"I'm your friend Joseph, who happens to be a Zuivere ziel also" he said proudly.
"And a Zuivere ziel is a What? may i also ask how you knew my name"
"Zuivere ziel means pure soul you'll discover many powers you can harness just don't lose that bracelet, if you do then the Boze can get it and destroy the world."
"O.k. how do i know this isn't a trick?" I asked.
"you ask a lot of questions kid," he chuckled and snapped his fingers the wind instantly started to pick up and the ground around us shot up.
"WOW" was all i could say "Can you teach me that?" i asked. the earth was already sinking around us the wind had already stopped.
"With time, now, meet me in the abandoned house down the street tomorrow at 6, and bring that bracelet" he said. I nodded and ran home my bag was slapping the side of my leg but i didn't care that i looked stupid. I was so mentally tired that i collapsed on my couch little did i know i forgot to lock the door.

I awoke at around one in the morning. My mind was still racing and I wasn't tired anymore. I sighed and fiddled with the bracelet Joseph had given to me. My mind was as scrambled as an egg. I sat up I knew i had no chance of going to sleep again. I debated what to do, should I go out for a night time walk, wouldn't that put me in unknown danger? I Didn't care I still had my cloths from yesterday so I marched right outside only to be duck-taped to the point of no return.
The whole time i held on to the bracelet. I started to think, what would Joseph do in this situation? How was i suppose to know! I hardly knew this kid!! Before I could realize what was going on I was being loaded into a car. I heard a kids, voice it didn't scare me but it surprised me. It was Joseph's voice he sounded as though he was trying to save me! I struggled even harder against the duck-tape I i got an arm out. I believe the only reason I escaped that day was Joseph, his attempt to save me gave me just enough of a distraction to pull of the duck-tape and jump out of what I learned to be as a van. I ran right through the fight that was going on at the back of the van. I heard a man yell "Don't let her get away!" and i could feel the vibration of there feet on the blacktop. I stopped in my paces and spun around my hands outstretched in a fist. The wind picked up and threw the men back a few yards. I was freaking out but I bolted. I must not have been very fast because Joseph was at my side in a few seconds.
"I knew I had the right girl,"He said and slowed down. "We should be fine they aren't chasing us anymore, now, do you mind telling me what you were thinking?!?"He explained not raising his voice but his voice had a edge to it as hard as stone.
"I thought I would be fine going out for a midnight-walk but apparently you were telling the truth about the danger"I said once we slowed to a walk.
"Well not all was lost we learned what one of your powers are," he said. I nodded and fidgeted with the bracelet. I looked around and saw the abandoned house we were suppose to meet in later today. I glanced at my watch 1:15 that fifteen minutes felt like an hour. I sighed and walked into the house in the house was a little kid who had to be about seven. He looked like he could be Josephs little brother.
"Who's this?"I asked.
"Kyle, hes the youngest Zuivere ziel," he said as the boy stood up and put his arm out with a bracelet similar to mine it was yellow with orange and red intertwined in it. Joseph put his out it was blue with green and purple woven into it. I hesitantly put mind next to theirs, mine was a mix between theirs with a bluish base but with yellow, red, and purple woven into it. There was a blinding flash of light with all the primary colors and a few colors that weren't on the color wheel. I squinted and looked at Joseph he was unfazed Kyle was the same. I took my arm out of the circle and they blinked and looked at me in amazement. Joseph's eyes were wide they stood there in silence for a little bit.
"What? Why are you looking at me like I'm a alien with three heads?"I asked I was shaking from fright and the effort to keep my cool.
"Na-nothing"Said Joseph and shook his head and walked into a room down a hall to my right. I realized the house was well furnished for being abandoned. The room had a classic feel like you were in an old Sherlock Holmes movie. I took one more look around and followed Joseph into the back room that happened to be his own room. The main colors were red and blue but it wasn't really as intricate as the front room. There was a couch on one end with the bed on the other side. I stood at the door waiting to be invited. He realized I was waiting to be let in and motioned for me come in. I walked in and sat down on the couch he sat across the room on his bed.
"So wait you don't have parents?"I asked.
"No i don't remember them I kind of just raised myself, and Kyle,"He replied with a grimace.
"I'm sorry it must be tough for you to talk to me about that" I said I had been living by myself for the past year the government thought I was with my Uncle but we had made a deal that if I could take care of myself they wouldn't force me to move out of my house and live with them. "I know how it feels my parents died in a car cr-crash a year back"I said my voice cracked and a tear streamed down my face a wiped it away but he saw. He stood up and come over to me he put his hand out and I took it. He pulled me into a standing position and said "Kyle and you have gone through a lot. And I admire you both for it,"He said and pulled me into a hug. I smiled, he was like the older brother figure I never had.
I broke away from him "Thank you" I said and sat down, he sat down next to me and we began to talk.
"Bet you never thought you would be hear at two in the morning" He said.
"You could say that twice, it's a good think I don't have any parents to call the cops"I said.
He nodded and said "I was wondering if we could transfer the head-quarters to your house. Mostly because the Boze know where this place is,"
I nodded "I was wondering how long you've been here, I guess it's o.k. with me but I'm going to warn you, when my uncle comes to make sure I'm still alive you two may want to hide. My uncle is my legal guardian and all,"
"We can live with that,"He said and stood up. "I suggest you sleep in the house tonight encase they're still out there." I nodded and stood up he stood up with me.
"Thank you for rescuing me today" I said sheepishly looking down.
He put his and on my shoulder "Us Zuivere ziel are like family,"
"What does Zuivere ziel mean anyway?" I asked and shrugged off his hand.
"Zuivere ziel means pure soul" He replied "It has been said that all that are pure souls can control the elements like me," he wave his hand at a bottle of water and water floated out of the bottle. It then shot right by my face making me squeal like a girl. He laughed and floated the water over my head so I couldn't see it. I smiled a devious smile and pushed him onto the couch. He must have lost his concentration because the water went splashing onto my head. I squealed and looked at him thinking what I could do that would really suck. I finally decided that I would bolt to his bed and soak it with the water. I spin around and bolted for his bed only to be intercepted by a wall of rock.
"How did you-"
"I can read minds" he interrupted me.
"I'm sorry but that's just not fair" I replied a little jealous.
"We all can it's just how strong it is depends on what you hear"He replied with a smirk. "Kyle's not a mental power hes a physical power sort of person meaning he controls the elements better then any of us. I'm a physic that lets me read minds and use mind control. We believe you are a mix but you can also... well we think-"
"Joseph just spit it out" I exclaimed.
"O.k. we think you can, fly" he said.
I laughed, "You think I can fly?! Wow That's a new one" I said, I was cracking up. I
forced myself to stop and looked up at him. He was frowning I wiped a tear off my face I had from laughing and pulled myself together.
"That's why I was hesitant to tell you."he said. I laughed again and covered my mouth again.
"O.k. I'm done laughing, but really! Flying! I mean firstly I have no wings and secondly I doubt it you know Peter Pan," He shook his head and started to walk out of the room. I followed you him and stepped in-front of him. "Listen I'm sorry, this is just to much"I said, He nodded and sighed.
"I knew you were getting to much information to fast"He said and rubbed his temple.
"O.k. why don't we hit the sack for the remainder of the night and we can continue this conversation tomorrow" I said putting my hands up in a surrendering gesture.
Chapter 2
I woke up that morning to a banging outside. I freaked out and bolted out of my room only to run right into Joseph. "What was that?" I asked, I felt like a frightened child.
"The Boze are outside, there trying to get in the house,"
"So what are we going to do?" I asked I had already been caught by the Boze once in the last twenty-four hours and I didn't need to be captured again.
"Nothing we are just going to stay put" He said, he turned around to leave but I stopped him.
"I don't think you understand, my uncle is coming over to check on me and if I'm not there well lets just say my incle and the whole fire department will be out looking for me." Joseph nodded he turned back around only for me to intercept him again.
"O.k. listen Tylyn, i know your uncle will kill you, but there is no way that you can get out of this house with out being captured by the Boze,"He side stepped around me and stalked down the hall. 'What is wrong with him? He was so nice yesterday!? Did I say something?' I wondered mentally. He chuckled he must have heard me.
"come on you have to be kidding me! You chose this house with out a secret entrance or exit!" Joesph spun around and grabbed my shoulders. He stared at me for a little bit and shook him head. 'I wish I could read minds' I though.
"No you don't, trust me"He whispered and walked away from me. I shook my head I was getting out of this house weather he likes it or not.
"Don't even think about it"he yelled
"Stop!" I yelled and ran back into the room. I had left my bracelet on the nightstand I went right to it expecting it to be there but it was M.I.A. I freaked out I turned to find Joseph but he was already at my door.
"You lost it already!' he exclaimed,
'get out of my head' I thought knowing he would hear. Joseph grinned he must really like bothering me. I glared at him he was killing me and I hadn't been awake for an hour yet and we were already having issues.
Kyle walked in and saw us glaring at each other I laughed at the expression on Kyle's face. "Sorry ill leave you to to argue if you want," he said backing away.
"No stay, I believe one on the Boze took Tylyn's bracelet. Kyle looked at me like I was mental.
"In my defense I have no idea what this bracelet can do so don't look at me like that"I said Joseph can up to me and took my hand I blushed.
"We don't even know what power that bracelet's powers include but if that bracelet falls into the wrong hands, well then that could kill us all,"He said. I looked up at him in astonishment.
"Well crap" I said and glanced down. I saw my bracelet on the ground. I closed my eyes and put my hand out and the bracelet flew into my hand.
I put my hand out so Joseph could see it. "Can you do that?"I asked grinning. He shook his head and took the bracelet out of my hand and slipped it on to my wrist. I smiled he was back to his normal self. "So what was making you all angry earlier?" I asked.
"I was worried about the Boze braking in and getting you, I was also freaking out over the fact your bracelet wasn't on your wrist. I was also angry at you for thinking about going to the house.
"Think about it it this way . If they catch you they can destroy the world... and well, I would be freaking out if you were captured because, well, your like a really close sister to me, maybe even closer," he said. I laughed,and let go of his hand.
"Joseph I like you more then a brother to but this is to fast can we wait please" I saw the glint of hope in his eyes and I laughed. He looked at me questioningly and i just shook my head. I glanced at my watch and freaked out my uncle would be at my house in 15 minutes give or take a few.
"Joseph, my uncle will be at my house in fifteen minutes, I really need to get to the house now." Joseph sighed and rubbed his forehead.
"O.k. I can get you there but it's going to be close."He walked out of the room followed by Kyle and lastly me.
"O.k. Joseph you said you can control peoples minds right?" I asked. He nodded and I asked "Can you control there minds and get them to leave?" He thought about it for a second.
'Kind of I'll collapse after about five minutes." He ran his fingers through his hair.
"What if you use some of my power?" I asked He nodded.
"I may be able to go about 10 minutes but you and I will collapse after that and we will be captured."He said. I sighed and took his hand in mine.
"I'll take that if were captured we can take them." I turned to Kyle "What ever you do don't come looking for us, we need one of us safe at the least." He sighed and muttered something about "love birds" and walked out of the room. I snickered as did Joseph and Joseph went for the door nod the second he placed his hand on the door nob a sharp pain shot up my arm and into my throat, head, and chest. It felt like I was on fire I fell to the ground. I screamed so loud kyle bolted back into the front room. I must have looked like a mess because he stood there frozen in fear. Joseph's hand clenched around both the door nob and the air. He let go of the nob and bent down to comfort me. I was shaking I felt Josephs hand on my back and he picked me up. I was momentarily confused but then I realized I was in Josephs arms. I tried to steady my breathing but I was unsuccessful I heard Joseph tell Kyle that I was O.k. but Kyle didn't leave. My eyes were closed and my hair covered my face. Joseph brushed it out of my face and I opened my eyes I saw his blue eyes looking at me with worry in them.
"I'm O.k." I whispered my voice cracked I must have been in shock or something because I was still shaking.
"I wish I knew they had rigged the nob" he said and set me down on the couch. I sat up and he sat next to me I rested my head on his shoulder I think he kissed my head. I was to tired to care we would talk about it later. "So what are we going to do about your uncle, and we need to get to your house today as soon as possible.
"I know, I say we use a rubber glove and try it once more."I said I felt a sudden wave of energy and I stood up. I started to wobble Joseph stood next to me and put a hand on my shoulder to stable me. Kyle was still in the room so I said "Kyle, I need you to get me a rubber glove or something rubber" he nodded and walked out of the room. "Joseph you say I'm suppose to be really strong"
"Kind of your suppose to be the strongest of our group and the leader"he said. I blinked I was suppose to be the leader but Joseph was the leader authority it felt like.I shook my head.
"Joseph your wrong I'm sorry but your leading us, and I'm lending you my powers today" Kyle walked in with a plastic glove on his hand he walked over to the door and looked at us.
"You to love birds ready?"He asked. I couldn't help but laugh at the seven year old in front of me. I nodded at the same time as Joseph and we walked to the door Kyle flung open the door and we were surprised to see what looked like an army at the door.
"O COME ON!!!"I Yelled when they started to circle us I noticed Josephs hand was outstretched. He was muttering words I couldn't hear but then everyone stopped coming at us and they were looking at Joseph as if awaiting a command. I laughed and Joseph opened his eyes he was grinning.
"Now clean a path," They did so, "now..."
"Tell them to walk to Chicago"I whispered.
"Walk to Chicago"He said and they started heading to the east. I smiled this was awesome. Started walking to my house but Joseph wouldn't budge.
"Why are you-"
"It's an affect of mind control, give it a minute" He said I stood there for about a minute and Joseph started to move.
"O.k. Let's get going we've lost some time already." I said, I began to run if we kept this speed we would make it there just in time I looked at my watch. We had five minutes until my uncle is at the house." I said as a was my house come over the horizon. I slowed my pace to a walk it was fast just encase. Joseph an Kyle slowed with me. I looked at Joseph "How much longer till you lose hold on them?"I asked.
"About three minutes, your powers are much weaker then i thought it must be because your tired."I nodded I was exhausted. I saw my uncle was rounding the coroner. I nearly jumped out of my skin.
"We need to go" I said and let go of Josephs hand he must have lost control of the Boze because I heard them yelling commands, I turned around and the army started for us I heard a gun go off and I fell to the ground. I checked myself for any wounds but I was O.k. I looked at Joseph and Kyle they both were standing up at the same time. I bolted for the house my uncle met me at the door Joseph and Kyle were following me. I ran for the door and yanked it open pulling my uncle in and slamming the door once Joseph and Kyle were in the house. I locked the door and turned to my uncle I had a whole story set up. Joseph started laughing and I looked at him like her was crazy.
"What's so funny Joseph" I asked I looked at Kyle for some help but he was snickering. I turned to my Uncle and he was smiling.
"WHAT?!?" I asked, finally Joseph answered me.
"This is your uncle!?!"He asked. "Cause I know this guy really well, he's our teacher,"
"Are you kidding me!"I exclaimed and looked at my uncle. He looked like my father that was in some of the pictures scattered around the room. His brown hair that was shaggy almost to his neck. His brown eyes didn't look like mine even though he was my fathers twin.
"Sorry kiddo I should have told you earlier but I though I should let Joseph here explain I thought it would be easier to consume from a kid your age."
I nodded it was easier to believe him but now the deal was sealed, I believed him totally. I walked over to Joseph and put a hand on his shoulder. "How's your powers holding up?"I asked.
He shrugged and took my hand off his shoulder and held it in his, there was a flash of light and he sighed. "I just borrowed some power from you you'll be of full power tomorrow"I nodded, I felt light headed after that and leaned on Joseph for support. He was smiling I wanted to wipe it off his face but I couldn't so I just let him enjoy it.
I turned to my uncle and began to get some information. "I have a few questions for you, question number one, was my father able to bend the elements and question number two, can you bend the elements?"
My uncle stopped and thought about that for a second. "Yes, and yes, Your father was bender of the elements, he was much more powerful then I was," He said solemnly. He still pained his brothers death, I was like a daughter to him once my father died he took up the father role for me. I felt extremely sad for him, we both suffered after my fathers death but I sometimes think he suffered more, I could never imagine losing a brother or sister.
My uncle puled himself together and looked at me and Joseph quizzically. "So, you and Joseph are a package now?" He asked, I blushed and put my face in Josephs arm.
Joseph laughed and said "She knows how I fell for her but she never told me how she feels, all she said is 'I want to give it some time'" I blushed even harder and pushed my face into his arm even harder. My uncle laughed and Kyle look at us like he was trying to read my mind.
"It's not like you don't know what I'm thinking" I said and removed my face from his arm.
He laughed and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "You're right I can tell what your thinking mostly I do it because I know it bothers you."He said.
I shrugged his arm off my shoulders and realized we were all still in the mud room. "Come on in make your-self's at home guys,"I said and realized I was the only girl in the house that made me a little self conscious. I motioned for everyone to sit on the couches. Joseph sat on the right of the love seat, my uncle and Kyle took the two recliners. I sighed and sat next to Joseph, he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. I rolled my eyes and looked at my uncle waiting for him to say something.
He took a deep breath and began. "I was stopping in to check in on Tylyn but it looks like she's fine,"He said looking at me and Joseph. He turned to Joseph and asked "How is your mind control doing?"He asked.
Joseph shrugged and said "I controlled the most people I have today, But I was using Tylyn's powers to support me," He sounded impressed when he said it.
"Whats so impressive about that?"I asked,
"The fact that you have a large amount of untapped power,"Said my uncle in response. I shook my head I didn't believe that i had powers that were strong, but then I saw a silhouette of a man and a women, they both were tall like me and one looked like it could be my uncle and the lady looked like a taller version of me. Then the silhouette became a transparent figure of that person. I pointed at it, it was my mom and dad! but how! I gasped and Joseph looked where I was pointing.
"Please tell me you can see that" I whispered.
"See what?" Asked Joseph,
"My parents! there ghost but they still are here!" I gasped and put my arm down. I blinked and they were gone.
"There gone" I whispered sadly.
Joseph pulled me closer to hand I rested my head on his shoulder. "I swear, I saw them right there" I said I felt exhausted.
"I don't doubt you" Said my uncle and stood up. "Kyle lets go work on your powers outside. Joseph and Tylynn are more then welcome to join" He said and walked out Kyle on his tail.
I Sighed and said "i'm going to bed," and stood up.
Joseph stood up with me and hugged me. "Sleep well" He said. I pushed him away from me. "Really? was the necessary?" I asked. I wasn't ready for a relationship nor did i need one right now.
He shook his head and I smiled. "Thanks for understanding" I said and walked over to my bedroom. I collapsed onto my bed and fell asleep.
(This is part of my story im writing it's based off a dream i had a few days ago made up names have no real person it's based off of except the main character is based off of how i would like to see myself and kind of do, please enjoy!)
