Speaking of reading, I liked Huff's third Valour book rather more than the first two for no particular reason i can put my finger on. All i know is that even though I figured out too many things very early, I had a wonderful time getting there anyway. I'm also mostly through Tamora Pierce's Bloodhound, and while I'm a bit conflicted by the handling of transgender folk, I'm mostly okay with it, as the issues are with the character's responses as opposed to structural (this is me glaring at Lois Bujold for her handling of trans men).
