Chapter One: Arriving
xxxxxxxxxx"Will you hurry up?" Ireland shouted, walking toward the school. Taiwan ran up behind her, panting, and out of breath.
xxxxxxxxxx"I...told you...not to run," she gasped. Ireland turned her head, with a grin on her face.
xxxxxxxxxx"It's not my fault you're too slow," she teased. Taiwan stuck her tongue out, and blew a raspberry. As Ireland laughed, she walked into a pole.
xxxxxxxxxx"FFF-" She fell to the ground, landing hard on her butt. Taiwan laughed before reaching out a hand to help her up.
xxxxxxxxxx"How'd that feel?" she teased back, thinking, Karma is a wonderful thing.
xxxxxxxxxxHesitantly, she took her hand, rubbing her forehead, muttering, "Remind me to watch where I'm going...Ow..."
xxxxxxxxxxTaiwan guided her around the pole, and they both walked into the high school. Taiwan looked around with wonder, as if she'd just entered an Otaku museum. Ireland would've been as excited as her, had she not already been here multiple times before. Ireland turned her head once again to look at Taiwan.
xxxxxxxxxx"...Something tells me you're going to like it here," she said. Taiwan looked back, still with a grin on her face from when Ireland fell.
xxxxxxxxxx"Hell yeah, I am!" she replied, slightly shouting.
xxxxxxxxxxThey walked up to the board, and checked for their class groups.
xxxxxxxxxx"...Poland...Lithuania...Russia...England...Ire-- Aha! Ireland! Found my name," Ireland declared.
xxxxxxxxxx"You did?" Taiwan questioned, not looking away from the board. A few names down, she exclaimed, "FFF- AMAGAWD!! We're in the same class!"
xxxxxxxxxxTaiwan and Ireland hugged each other, jumping for joy, and squeeing. They checked the dorm board. Ireland's face lit up, with a bright smile, when she saw that she'd be sharing a dorm with Taiwan as well-- and two others. Ireland moved a little closer to the board, and read the other names out loud.
xxxxxxxxxx"Egypt, and England."
She turned to look at Taiwan, who was deep in thought, trying to imagine who they were. She'd only heard about England through stories that Ireland told, because England and Ireland were siblings, but Egypt was a complete stranger to the both of them.
xxxxxxxxxx"I wonder who Egypt is... He's probably new around here, cause I've never heard of him." Ireland mumbled. Taiwan paid no attention, grabbed her hand, and immediately rushed to their dorm room.
xxxxxxxxxxTrying to be polite, in case anyone was inside the dorm already, AKA their roommates, Taiwan opened the door by the handle, rather than bursting through it. No one was inside, as she'd thought, and she dragged Ireland into the room, forgetting that she had a death grip on her wrist. Ireland, trying to pry herself away from Taiwan, was trying to get her attention.
xxxxxxxxxx"Hello?? Uh, Taiwan, you can let go now... TAIWAN!"
xxxxxxxxxxStartled, Taiwan immediately let go, and dropped her suitcase on the floor with a thump! Taiwan looked at Ireland, as if she'd done something wrong, mumbling, "God, are you trying to give me a heart attack??"
xxxxxxxxxxIreland rolled her eyes, and placed her suitcase on the bottom bunk, which was originally the guys' place, but she was unaware of this. Or, in this case, she didn't care. Taiwan put hers on the top, respecting that the bottom was not her's, like the good girl she is. After getting unpacked, tired from walking such a long distance, Ireland passed out on her bed, probably not going to be woken up for a good 5 hours. At least, not easily. Taiwan, after unpacking her things, climbed down from the top bunk, knelt down by Ireland's bed, and poked her arm.
xxxxxxxxxx"...Hellooooo. HELLOOOOO? Wake up, baka!!" Eventually, Taiwan gave up, and walked to the cafeteria to go get a snack.
xxxxxxxxxxLater on, Egypt and England had made their way into the dorm room. Surprised to see Ireland sleeping there, where she wasn't supposed to, England walked over, and poked her like Taiwan did.
xxxxxxxxxx"Sis, wake up... Sister Ireland, c'mon, get up," England badgered. Ireland barely budged, except for the even breathing that made her chest move every so often. Egypt walked over to England, and calmly said, "It's fine, I'll take the top."
xxxxxxxxxxEngland looked at him, like he was insane, despite the situation. After putting their stuff away, England decided to go to the cafeteria, like Taiwan did. Egypt stuck around, and sat at one of the desks, which would usually have a computer on it.
xxxxxxxxxxFor minutes on end, Egypt would stare at Ireland sleeping, oblivious that he'd just fallen in love. She looked like an angel to him. A red-haired, wingless, no-halo, sleeping angel. He sighed, and looked away for a second, back at the door. He stood up, and opened it slightly, to check to see if anyone was coming. All clear. He closed the door quietly, made his way over to Ireland, and knelt down. He inched over her, and kissed her cheek, blushing tremendously.
xxxxxxxxxxOver in the cafeteria, the entire place was deserted, except for Taiwan and England. They'd arrived after everyone else, and it was about 7:30pm, so the rest of the school's population were in their dorms. Taiwan was over at the vending machines, pressing a button rapidly because the machine jammed, and her candy bar was stuck behind the metal spiral. England walked up behind her, and mumbled, "Finally, a girl around here who eats chocolate... Other than my sister, I mean."
xxxxxxxxxxStartled once again, Taiwan jumped, and turned midair to face him.
xxxxxxxxxx"I swear, I'm gonna have a heart attack tonight if people keep scaring me!" she exclaimed, and paused.
xxxxxxxxxx"...You're in my way." England huffed. Taiwan said nothing, astonished, because she'd obviously fallen in love, too.
xxxxxxxxxx"I-I'm s-sorry--" She stuttered. England interrupted her, with an irritated expression, "Apology accepted, now move."
xxxxxxxxxxTaiwan side stepped, adding in, "Go ahead and try to get something, but the machine's jammed..."
xxxxxxxxxxEngland sort of glared at her, not turning his head.
xxxxxxxxxx"Nonsense. Watch and learn."
xxxxxxxxxxHe walked to the side of the machine, and punched it, and Taiwan thought that would be something that Ireland would do. Then she realized, that was England, her brother!
xxxxxxxxxxShe paid absolutely no attention to the fallen candy bar. England walked back to the front of the machine, knelt down to grab the candy bar, and held it out to her.
xxxxxxxxxx"I believe this is yours," he said.
Taiwan blushed from the embarrassment of acting like a statue for the past 45 seconds.
xxxxxxxxxx"T-thank you," she stuttered again.
xxxxxxxxxxEngland smirked.
xxxxxxxxxx"You're welcome." He replied.
xxxxxxxxxxAfter eating their snacks, and talking for a while, England and Taiwan walked back to their dorm. Taiwan opened the door, and was startled yet again, by Egypt.
xxxxxxxxxx"FASHUIFSDHUF-- People've got to stop doing that," she gasped.
Egypt stood, and apologized as England walked in.
xxxxxxxxxx"I'm sorry, forgive me," Egypt said to Taiwan, quietly. Still breathing a bit heavily, she nodded in response. A few minutes later, everyone was in their bunk except for Egypt, and the light was off. Everyone was asleep but him, too. Egypt once again made his way to Ireland, and kissed her cheek one last time before gazing at her beauty. He then climbed up to his bunk, and fell asleep, dreaming of her.
