Most of the authors I read are British, I find... I just went back and started Brian Jacques Redwall series, since I skipped about 5 years of pre-teen books reading at a university level half way through Elementary school.
So I pick up these books, I thought with a last name like Jacques this fellow would be French Canadian, or something. No, Brittish it seems. Another one to add to the list.
At the very least though, it's trained me to use impecable vocabulary. I'm taken with some of the traditional forms of English, and love the range of dialects.
