The Aphorism

Anise counted mentally, out of boredom as she followed a very shady looking man down an alley. She knew exactly where he was but he had no clue she was following him. Someone had left him gagged at her door, she knew exactly who he was and what was wanted from him. He knew where a serial killer was laying low in the city. The man she was following was the killer's caretaker. Once the police gave up on the killer he would help the killer out of the city. Her job was to get him to give her the killer's location before the murder cases were closed. Normally she would have just questioned him at her base of operations, but she had purposefully let him escape. He would run and she would follow him right to the killer. He turned the corner and several seconds later so did she. As she turned the corner she startled a dog rummaging through the garbage. The dog started barking at her, causing her target to look back. Their eyes connected and he started running.
"s**t!"
She cursed and sprinted after him. She chased him into a nearby factory, it was dark before the movement sensors turned the lights on. She grinned when as she watched the man attempt to get out through the back door, but it was padlocked shut. She was blocking his only way out. She glanced around at the boxes, they had run into the storage area. The man threw himself at the door trying to break the chain, but it was no use. The man turned on her, reaching towards his back pocket and produced a knife. Anise snickered.
"How cute."
She murmured before pulling out her marakov pistol. She pointed it at the man and he froze. She then pulled the door behind her closed and bolting it shut with her free hand, not taking her eyes off her target.
"Now, I know that you know where Hans Ludwig is hiding in this city. All you have to do is tell me where he is and you're scotch free. It's a simple deal, you would be wise to take it."
She said in a calm tone. She had done this several times. She knew he would most likely decline. She looked forwards to it. And right on the dot the man laughed.
"As if I'd tell you. You think Hans will let me go if I snitch on him? He'll kill me just for talking to you!"
"That's not my problem. All I need is an address."
Anise said as she walked away from the door, the gun still pointed at her target. She glanced at a metal pipe sitting on top of a large wooden crate. She picked it up and seemed to appraise it's weight.
"You'll get nothing from me. Go ahead and shoot me, b***h! I'm already a dead man anyways."
The man snarled and crossed his arms, he ended their conversation there. Anise sighed, rolling her eyes the motion caused her to notice a large hook attached to a chain. Most likely used to stack the crates.
"You're loss then."
The man flinched as the metal pipe came down towards him. Everything blacked out for the man.
Anise tossed the bloodied pipe away then leaned over the man he was still breathing, she had gone easy on him. She slipped her pistol back into it's holster and started to unbuckle the man's belt. She slipped his belt off and then bound his hands and legs together with his belt like a hogtied pig. She walked over to a control box hanging from the ceiling. She tested a few buttons before the hook chain moved. She directed it until it was over the man then walked over to the chain and slipped the hook into the belt. She then returned to the control box and watched as the man was lifted into the air. He started swaying in the air. She then directed him towards the back wall of the building. She pressed the large red button and the man came to an abrupt halt.
