Idea: fuse 1950's American pop (think Connie Francis, Doris Day, the Chordettes, the McGuire Sisters, Patti Page, maybe a dash of the Everly Brothers) with oshare kei umbrella genre stylings. Sounds like an ear-sore, right? No! Ah, what a great album this would make... I got it. I'm going to study 1950's American pop harmony (I've already noticed they use interesting techniques, which is what caused me to think of this), the simple yet romantic bass lines, the core of what makes a classic melody from this era (lyrical syllable count meshing with melodic counts, etc. See if there's a correlation, see if one causes the other), and add that happy rock flavor. Yes, yes, not all oshare is happy. But I will focus on the happy.
There is every chance that you will not ever hear these songs I make. So don't hold your breath.
But Viiii~, I thought you HATED AMERICAN MUSIC. Wrong! I hate MODERN American music. And even then, some artists are exceptions (like Norah Jones).
I've also been noticing how if I were a man how ENORMOUSLY GAY I would seem. My god. Be glad I'm a girl. Though it would be fun to be a guy, I'm not going to lie. Though I'd probably have been gay bashed to within an inch of my life because oh.my.god I'm the femmiest female I've ever met in my entire life. And then there the whole "I like cutesty-wutesy Asian guys" things, which...who knows where that may have gone were I a boy...
