I AM FEELING GREAT!! (even though I had to wake up super early today) Yesterday, Me, Vicks, and Ava went on a BLIND GROUP DATE! Crazy? Yes. Risky? Not as much as you'd think. Did it go well? HECK YES! Here's what happened. I went over to Aubz's house (Vicks, same diff) at 5 (because I'm special) and brought all the cheese I could find in my house for pizza (I'll get to the actual pizza making in a minute). Vicks had called me and told me that she wanted me to come an hour early. During this hour we fixed an armchair and she told me how her boyfriend was being stupid. (If this isn't cleared up by the next time I see him, he's a dead man). I listened, threatened, and basically did what I do. Ava came at 5:55 because she had to watch her nephew for a while. We only had a minute to talk before the doorbell rang again. DUN DUN DUN. It was them. Well, two of them. Tyler was a nerd (which is a REALLY good thing) and Juan was an awesome Latino guy (not to be racist, but Latinos are almost always cool). It started out kinda awkward, but then I opened my mouth and said something funny. Aubz and Ava laughed and I guess the guys did too, just to be polite. Pretty soon we were chatting like chums while we made pizza. The dough was freezing, so we stuck it in the oven for a bit. After we got it all rolled out the condimizing* could begin. (*condimize- to add condiments to) I took over half of the pizza and declared it a no pineapple or mushroom zone. My small half consisted of pepperoni, Canadian bacon, and olives. Ava's was piled with just about everything, but Aubz went for the Hawaiian style with pineapple and bacon. The guys got to make two. One was just a regular pizza, but the other was a deep dish, stuffed crust, condiment-a-palooza. It looked delicious, but it had mushrooms so I wouldn't eat it. Besides, I was already going to be full from my personalized half. We girls made some delicious bread sticks, one of which was affectionately named Chubby by myself, half ended up covered with cinnamon and the other was cinnamon. At least that's what Aubz's said, and I'll never let her forget it. Really, the other half was buttered and garlicked. We sat boy-girl at the table to induce mingling, with one gaping hole for Tyler's other friend. Ack, I forgot to mention how this all happened. Here's a vague explanation. Tyler's Mom and Aubz's Mom know each other. They decided that a group blind date would be fun. So Tyler invites two friends and Aubz invites two friends. Ta-da. We talked about schools (Juan is from Ava's rival school and Tyler goes to a charter school called Walled-In). Apparently Tyler's school has a uniform, and the colors are pink and black. (He might have been messing with me) I said that they all must look like a bunch of emo chicks. We all laughed, which helped me feel comfortable. Then there was a knock at the door. Could it be the other guy who had apparently been sidetracked by a basketball game he had to play in? Yes. Did I claim it was the FedEx guy? Yes. Did I shout the word 'FedEx' when the door opened? Sadly, yes. The newcomer was named Elijah, though most of the time we called him Eli, and Ava nearly lost her jaw but covered it with a laugh. I managed a hello through my laughing. True, he was (or should I say is?) cute, nicely tall, and obviously athletic. But he did the hair twitch. Nothing bugs me more than a neck spasm that is supposed to get your hair in order. Introductions were made, though Eli insisted that we talk about ourselves, and the munching continued. We all got bored pretty fast, though, and headed downstairs to the Wii Tyler had brought. If you don't want to make an idiot of yourself, don't play Wii Sports Resort. Sword fighting is really hard for a novice, as is Canoeing. Did I play both those games? Yes, yes I did. Did I win? Yup. Tyler and Eli often had showdowns, seeing as they were the more 'game' guys. Juan usually took a backseat along with Ava. I was better at most of the games than I realized. I got four strikes on bowling (not in a row), managed to canoe, won ping pong, nearly beat Tyler at speed slice, and shoot two bulls-eyes (in the first, easy, round) in archery. Go me! Eventually Tyler and Juan had to leave, but Eli could stay since he had his own car. He played his guitar, (bonus points from me) and watched an episode of Castle with us. By the end of the night he was my favorite. Tyler was cool, in a nerdy sort of way. Juan was awesome, but wasn't really all that outgoing. But Eli could: play basketball (they won), play the guitar, sing, play video games, and write. Despite the hair twitch and maybe a touch of cockiness he was probably the coolest one there. I probably don't have an ice cube's chance in Hades with him, but it's a nice thought. Any who, that's what I did Saturday night. It was awesome and I'd love to hang out with those guys again. Especially Eli. Tootle pip!
