October's Over

if I learned one thing growing up it's this
that Living is an Art
it feels good to be back on my pills again
they say old habits die hard
you think you know me better than I know myself, but darling
it took me twenty years to get this far (and for what?)

looking back on Life it's no wonder
that I've always been this cold
I don't care what you say, now or ever
'cause I've already been told
the fact of the matter is
I'm too damn young to be this old

you don't know what it's like to be me
and you don't know you're talking too

October is over
more chances dead and gone
I've made my share of mistakes
but it'll be a long time till I'm gone

they say time heals all pain
all it does is give it time to fester
so I move forward and try to stay sane

now I've gotta treacherous ex-girlfriend
but I still Love her to Death and back
I lost my kids and it's her and her fiance's fault
but I can't tell her that
in her mind I was in the wrong the whole time
she denies her double-standards in fact.

a Friend of mine was killed couple weeks ago
down at SouthEast Sixth and Fourth
we were outgunned so we called the cops instead
they treated us like punks of course
I don't want anybody else hurt or killed
that's the only reason we don't strike back full-force

you don't know how it what it means to lose
and you don't who you're talking to
