Years after Xehanort was defeated by Sora and friends,three new Keyblade wielders step forth,Nani,Kuro and Hikari.After being attacked by gray beings called "Nobodies",Nani's keyblade powers become known,and the three try to figure out if something is happening to they're home.After a promise,the Three part ways to their seperate homes.That night a mysterious figure enters their world which is named "Sunaarashi".Kuro starts to become paranoid and leaves to a sacred temple out in the middle of the giant desert.Nani wakes up in the middle of the night because of the loud crash of thunder,and goes to find Hikari.While searching in the temple,Kuro finds a giant keyhole shaped door made of sandblock and accidently stubbles upon the world's keyhole.Nani finds the mysterious figure standing in the lot where he fought the Nobodies,and begins asking questions,he says that he is the new ruler of every world,Xehanort.After discovering the keyhole,a woman by the name of Malifecant shows herself to Kuro and demands that he open the keyhole.
Kuro refuses and shows that he has a strong heart,that will repel the darkness,thus giving him the keyblade known as Way to the Dawn.Nani gets told to meet Xehanort at the temple gates,or he will send Kuro to the dark realm of the heartless.Nani becomes annoyed and begins to trail after him along with Hikari.Malifecant becomes furious and disappears,as soon as she leaves,Kuro is joined by the man calling himself Xehanort,and starts to toy with Kuro's mind.At the outside of the temple,Nani commands that Hikari stay outside while he goes in and rescues Kuro,and swears that he will keep his promise,by holding the necklace of a heart,cut into two side,a white side and a black side.When Nani reaches the temple insides,he sees Kuro fighting the hooded figure claiming to be Xehanort,with a keyblade.Nani joins in the fight and loses with Kuro.While Hikari is waiting outside,another hooded figure walks out of a corridor of darkness,and tries to kidnap her,it fails and she ends up running back to the old mansion where the three made their promise.After Xehanort tells the two why they have the keyblade,he tells Nani and Kuro to meet him at the old mansion.Xehanort leaves through a corridor of darkness and leaves the two,puzzled and furious.
Hikari reaches the locked doors of the old mansion and starts to cry,then Xehanort reappears and mutters that the nobodies did what they were supposed to do for oncein complaint.Xehanort then asks the girl to stand up and come with him,she declines and goes around him,after running to the gates,while looking back at the black hooded figure,she bumps into Kuro,who has his Way to the Dawn at the ready,followed by Nani who has his Kingdom Key ready as well.Xehanort tells the three that they have little time left on this island,among the sea of worlds and stars.Nani and Kuro get in battle positions and charge at Xehanort.The two are blocked by another figure in black,Xehanort then shapes a purple orb of darkness which is then sent up into the sky,suddenly the whole world starts to shake.Nani moves from everybodies eye,and tries to sneak an attack on the supposivelly open Xehanort.Nani fails when Xehanort vanishes and appears right behind him,grabbing the back of his head.Xehanort opens a portal the darkness,and throws Nani into it,hoping he'll land at the Dark Coastline.Kuro and Hikari become furious and Kuro charges at Xehanort.Leaving Hikari unattended,the other figure sweeps Hikari into another corridor.Kuro doesn't hear her screams over his own rage and swings at Xehanort.Xehanort blocks it by catching the backside of the keyblade in his right hand and throws him back.
Kuro gets back up and notices Hikari's disappearance and tries to attack the other figure.The hooded figure retaliates by pulling out two black conducters and brings energy through them,smacking Kuro away.The hooded figure walks through the same corridor that He threw Hikari into.Kuro turns to Xehanort's final words before leaving,"Kuro,my boy...you and those other two are gifted...go away from this wretched speck of dust you call a world and go to the final resting place of Light...." Xehanort then opens a portal and walks through it."where is that?!" Kuro yells out,expecting an answer.The Way of Dawn raises itself and shoots a beam of light towards the Mansion gates,opening a corridor to the light.Kuro walks through it and the three start their journey,unknowing the fruits of their labor,not knowing what fate they will unfortunatly march to.
