The only thing I have to add to the latest discussion of multiple fanfic fail due to privilege is this: The less represented a minority is in media in general, the more important it is to get it right because there are so few correctives to damaging or simply incorrect information. If people in the minority are complaining about something being seriously ******** up? Odds on there's a damned good reason they are doing it, and now would be a really good time to listen. Getting it wrong doesn't make someone a bad person; everyone messes up sometimes. This doesn't excuse a person from trying to fix things and avoid those mistakes in future. I know would rather be called out than keep showing my a** in public.
