Hawksley says he's had it his entire life. He says he's gotten used to it, and that he accepts it if it means that he even gets to stay alive. I can understand that logic.
Recently, my luck's taken a turn for the worse. Just tiny little events that are chalked up to "bad luck", in my opinion. Like this evening for example. I get back to my room, tired, having lots of hopeful thoughts for dreams swirling through my head, and what do I see swarming my desk? Ants. Ants! Bugs on our dorm are almost unheard of. We're on the fourth freakin' floor; they must've been climbin' for a while. What did I discover was the source of this? An old mochi box that I was using for decoration. Yep. Had a treat, tried to make the place look nice, and I get bugs.
Bad luck's gotten ahold of me. But if it takes all my luck to keep Hawksley alive and well, then by damn I'm gonna take every punch thrown at me. It's kinda worth it.
