Xefron1 sighed and laid down underneath a shady tree, closing his eyes. Damn, does it feel good to relax...zOMG! really takes quite a bit ou--? Just then, a twig snapped under the wight of someone or something's foot off to his left. Xefron1 opened his pale grey eyes and sat up, listening. Silence. He looked around, but the clearing was completely deserted. Or was it? "Um, he cleared his throat, "is someone in here?" No response, but something ran past him. Xefron1 whirled, but nothing was there. "Haha Matthew," he said. "You're really funny. Get your a** out here, boy!" Another twig snapped, closer this time. Was something breathing on his neck? Very slowly, he turned and came face to face with...

xxyour-damn_asianxx.

"HOLY S#17!" Xefron1 leapt to his feet and summoned two spirit coyotes, holding them back. They snarled and snapped at her, but he kept them from attacking her. xxyour_damn_asianxx utilized her rings, buffering herself before summoning her favored katana. It hovered, waiting for her to make it dance across the air and slice something in half as clean as could be. "Damn it," Xefron1 unsummoned his spirit coyotes, "don't sneak up on me like that!"

"Now," she stowed away her katana. "That was pretty entertaining, babe." He scowled and flopped back down underneath the tree, patting the spot beside himself for her to join him, but she remained standing. "You can lay down, you know." He looked up at her, but she was gazing off to the west side of the clearing, the look on her face one of sheer horror. "What is it--oh s**t." He sat up and saw a small pack of Animated, standing at the edge of the clearing, just watching them. "How the ******** did--BABE MOVE!" He leapt to his feet, summing six spirit coyotes and two lethal blades (which was as much Mana as he could put out without draining his willpower), for three outlaw pups were dashing across the clearing, straight for her. "MARIE," he roared, sending his wolves out to meet the outlaw pups, "GET OUT OF HERE NOW!" But, she stood, rooted to the spot, her eyes still fixed on the group of Animated. "MAARIEE!" He grabbed her and shoved her back towards the tree he had been relaxing under, standing in front of her. But she leapt up, and summoned six katanas (which was the most she could summon without killing her Mana level and willpower) and sent them straight for the outlaw pups (who were in a struggle with Xefron1's spirit coyotes). Xefron1 watched the battle unfolding, hoping that the rest of the Animated (who were getting ancy to fight he could tell) stayed out until the outlaw pups were finished. But, to his dismay, he saw three Kokeshi Dolls and a lawnshark heading in. Not good...so not good...we need more people. Just then, two of his spirit coyotes attacked one outlaw pup and destroyed it. The rest got the idea and multiple spirit coyotes attacked a single target, effectively destroying it. xxyour_damn_asianxx instructed her katanas to do the same and they joined in with the spirit coyotes until all the outlaw pups were defeated. "Not done yet!" He cried, sending his spirit coyotes across the clearing to meet the Kokeshi Dolls and Lawnsharks headlong. xxyour_damn_asianxx sent her katanas after his coyotes, and buffered both Xefron1 and herself.

The resulting battle was long and grueling, but after a long while, Xefron1 and xxyour_damn_asianxx defeated the twenty or so Animated. "What," he said, staying his spirit coyotes, "the ******** was that just now?" xxyour_damn_asianxx shrugged, staying her katanas and sitting down.

"You got me," she replied, running a hand through her hair. "I thought the guards had this place protected."

"Obviously not well enough," was all he said. She said nothing, merely nodded in agreement. "Come on babe," he reached his hand down, "let's go." xxyour_damn_asianxx accepted his hand and stood up gracefully, calling her katanas to her, which surrounded her like hawks, keeping her well enshrined and protected. Xefron1 called his spirit coyotes to him and they spread out across the two of them, keeping a good sized perimeter. They reached the edge of the clearing safely, but Xefron1 could not help feeling uneasy. How did those Animated get through? And if they could, more will follow... He grimaced, taking one last look at the once more deserted clearing, before following xxyour_damn_asianxx out of Towns and into the immersive site of Gaia Online.
