It has dawned upon me that I should journal some of my experiences while I am here in Korea. We arrived July 1st and depart back for the states August 9th. The weather is very humid and the differences in culture can be a struggle at times. When you first learn one culture norm, you are told by others that no one actually does that. o.o;;
For the first 3 weeks, we taught and participated in the English classes here on campus. The students are absolutely wonderful and their English much better than we had anticipated. They are eager to learn and to talk to us, which is always awesome. Inbetween class days, we toured S Korea, buying many souvenirs, both for ourselves and for friends and family back in the states.
There are 7 people on this trip. The professor, Dr. Helion, my roomie-for-a-month-and-friend Kristin, my Fiance and Love Tyler, Tony, Chris, A.J. and myself. Most of us did not know each other, but I like to think we have formed a bond of friendship. Kristin and I share the same major, Tyler, Chris and A.J. are majoring in Resort Management (with Tyler double majoring in Business) and Tony in Computer Science.
We all come from different backgrounds with different majors and the like, which help the students get an inside look at how diverse American can be.
Until next time~
