Chapter 9 Part 2 Race
I arrived at the shores of Japan and flew straight to the biggest city, Tokyo. Hopefully I can find information on the last Tyrant before Navimle. He was a strange person, I can’t remember his name, but he always wore a hood, mask and orange goggles, which he never removed and only usually spoke when voting took place or disagreement. He always came and left instantly and I could never find any information on him. He was also a bit kind for a Tyrant, his people continue to flourish while the rest of the world was dying. I wonder if he was like Govind’s dad, but in till then I need to focus on my mission. The landscape of Japan looked wonderful, but night slowly began to creep up on me. That’s when I saw bright flashy lights in the distance and flew towards them. I was over Tokyo now and descended into an alleyway and quickly transformed into some street clothes and covered my face with a mask for my mouth and an eyepatch. I quickly travel the streets blending in with the crowds. I decided to go to the number one spot for information, The taverns. I entered one and went asking people if they knew any information about the 'Strange Man' Tyrant. One big muscle guy came towards me and said, "I got the information...for a price." Just so you know I understand Japanese. I sighed and agreed. I gave him a good sum of dough and he said to follow him. He led me to an alleyway. "Is this a trick?" I asked. "Yes exactly." He snapped his finger and a group of men appeared, armed. "We are the ‘Chi’ Clan. You will now be exterminated.” He laughed, but when he looked towards me, he saw that his minions were down. “That all?” “What? Impossible, who are you?” I knocked him out and as he lost conscious, I said, “Nobody.”’ I took back my money and went somewhere else. Through out the rest of the night, I had various reencounter similar situations, but not only from this ‘Chi’ clan, but what seemed to be the ‘Hi’ and ‘Mizu’ Clans. One thing for sure was, I made enemies with them. Just my luck. I manage to find a nice little noodle cart and got a bowl from them before I went to the next tavern. “You look troubled boy.” Said the noodle man. “Yeah, I am trying to find information on someone, but I think I made enemies with the Chi, Hi, and Mizu clan.” I sighed. “Can’t get a good night.” The man laughed, “Well, then why not try the ‘Kaze’ Clan?” “Kaze? How many clans are there?” “Just 4. Each represent an element of Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind.” “But isn’t there five elements and having metal and wood instead of wind?” “Yeah, apparently they follow after the 4 Constellations, but after a while, they more towards the elements and they thought color wise and it is just confusing mess.” My head was beginning to hurt as well. “Anyway, I can take you to the ‘Kaze’ clan if you want.” “Sure.” I try to make sense of their logic while he led me to a nice building outside of Tokyo. The sun began to rise and I realized that I’ve been up all night. I didn’t feel tired, but I was amazed. I looked around and saw beautiful gardens and how many smiling faces there were. We reach a pair of guards and they held out their weapons. “Relax,” said the Noodle Man, “We are here to talk to the Boss.” They relaxed and I went into a room. One of the guards came up to me. “Drop all of your weapons.” I place my blades down. I began to walk forward, but the guard stopped me. “All of them.” I pulled out some of my hidden blades from my sleeves, back, and legs followed by a few small things. I then took my normal mask out and placed on it on my face. “The mask stays.” They allowed it as I dropped my eyepatch and other mask. I waited in a nice room with a view of the garden and a pond. I sat in front of a table as I heard people whispering behind the many doors. Finally one open, there stood a young man who wore a black hakama and a juban, he had bandages around his forehead and eye, no hair and plenty of scars everywhere. Next to him was the Noodle Man wearing bright green clothes and a young women in a purple kimono with long gray hair. I bowed in respect. “You show much respect for a Nobody.” Said the young man. “But you don’t have to be so formal.” I nodded and all of us sat down. The women passed out tea to all four of us. “So you manage to make yourself an enemy with the other three clans and want to know about the ‘Strange Man’ Tyrant?” Said the young man in a serious tone. Then he laughed, “You have my approval, how’d you like to join the ‘Kaze’ clan.” I almost slammed my head on the table, almost. “Um…thanks, but no thanks, I am just trying to help people.” I said. “Fair enough, let me introduce us. I am Deiki Fuu ‘Seiryuu’, this is my wife, Deiki Midori, and my right hand man, Chuukin Tenku.” “I am-” I began. “I know who you are, Nobody and I’ll tell you what you wish to know.” Thinks were looking up “For a price.” And back down to earth I came. “What do I have to do?” “Prove to me your dedication. A race for territory is to be held by the four clans in a week. I want the territory for schools and orphanages while the others want to create bars and other things.” “That’s very nice.” “We are a clan of good nature, I wish to help people. We have a motto, ‘Be honest to yourself and everything will come together.’” I was shocked to here that and wanted to ask if they knew an old boatman, but I decided to leave it alone. “Anyway, we shall provide you with a mechanic and parts.” “Parts?” “Yes, you may choose your own motorcycle design and build it then race it.” Well, this could have been worst. “…And if you lose you must forfeit your life.” I have got to stop thinking that. *** Afterwards I was taken to a workshop and met my mechanic. He wore an orange jumpsuit and a pair of yellow goggles and had a small cigarette in his mouth. “Hey, name’s Mikatu. I’ll be helping you with your motorcycle. It gives it, its own characteristics when someone makes it by himself or herself, like its own soul. So first pick a design.” He handed me a multitude of different plans each with something different about them. “Hmm, which do you recommend?” He was startled by my question. “Most pick the last fastest one, but they aren’t that fast as a low speed one.” He pulled out a plan that was taped up on the wall. “Now this is fast, it can conceal weapons and shields and with one wheel, can makes turns and maneuvers that normal ones can’t and goes faster than any type on the market…or it would be.” He tossed the paper aside. I picked it up. The design looked like a single wheel with a thin body and the person would sit on their stomach with a windshield in front. “Why can’t we do this?” “I have no idea how to keep the wheel attached to the body without spokes and bars. If I could then that be one fast dangerous cycle.” I began to think about anyway to find this information. I was sure that Navimle had some plans or his scientists. “Is there a computer nearby?” Mikatu pointed to a terminal behind him. I went to the computer and access a secret government site. I look for anything that could work. I found one that could work. It was a prototype idea of using magnetism and frequencies so that a magnet would only link up with a matching frequency of an opposite sign. However the plan was incomplete. “Hey Mikatu, will this work?” He came over and studied the schematics. His cigarette fell out of his mouth and burned my leg a little. Ouch. As I got up to rub the ash off, he began looking at the paperwork and I swear could of heard a click coming from him. “I see. It can work.” He turned to me and said, “Nobody begin working on the body and weapons, I’ll build the wheel and engine.” In three days, we completed both and manage to get it to work. The engine had a way of sending out wavelengths and the wheel was set to match the wavelength. If you sent out one wavelength, it would stop the wheel, if you send out hundred or even millions, you'd be a blur on the street for the engine would continuously send out wavelengths while the wheel would keep spinning to try to catch one when another would appear. Mikatu worked hard so that way the wavelengths would accidentally cause the wheel to stop or go into reverse. I was hard work. The first few times we tried to work it ended in disaster till eventually I manage to get a hold of it. By the end of the 4th day, I could activate all three forms, Attack, Defense and Speed. Attack Form was when it brought out guns in the front and one in the back while I could stick my swords in for handlebars, while Defense Form cause shields to come out and protect my body. Speed Form was its normal form. It also had some boosters just in case and a propulsion system to keep the back airborne and other small features. *** Finally, the day of the race arrived. The other racers representing the other clans turned out to be the guys I beat up trying to find information. The Chi clan was a big muscular man with long spiky brown hair named Kinzoku. His ride was covered with spikes with some big guns. The Mizu clan was a girl with blue highlights in her hair named Tsurara. Her ride focused more on defensive measures that could turn deadly. The Hi clan was a boy with fiery red hair named Yougan whose ride was decked out in weapons. This was going to be a long race. I felt a pat on my back. I turn to see Fuu, Mikatu, and Tenku. “Good luck, Nobody. You’ll need it.” Said Tenku. “I wish you the best as well, Nobody.” Fuu said. “Hey Nobody, what shall we name this thing anyway?” Mikatu said. I thought and said, “The Mikatu Z Style, Twilight Ver.” “That’s stupid. It sounds like a robot or something.” “Hmm, well how about Soul Cycle. You did say vehicle had souls.” “Fine, but I will make a better design and name it myself.” He said with a chuckle. “Racers to the starting line.” All of us got set up. “I’m going to get my revenge on you this time, punk.” Said Kinzoku. “Same.” Said Tsurara. “You’re going down.” Said Yougan. I sighed. “Look you guys attack me, I just use self-defense.” “Whatever.” We got on our machines and started our engines. “Everyone ready? Set.” I took one last breath. “GO!” We blasted out of the starting line. We traveled down the alleyways of Tokyo. That’s when the attacks began. Being in a small alleyway, Tsurara and my motorcycle could easily fit side by side while Yougan’s just barely fit next us. They started to bump me and try to knock me off course. I manage to dodge a few, but Yougan began to fire in the cramp space. Again dodging wasn’t hard, but then a stray shot went for the girl. She looked scared. I quickly pressed a button and jumped in front of the shot. “Hahaha, got him.” Said Yougan. The wind quickly blew away revealing my Defense Form, but I fell back a little and behind me was Kinzoku. His machine pretty much was destroying the alleyway and began destroying a bit of my ride. I quickly change to Attack Form then swung around and went into reverse. I began firing, but had little to no effect, he return fire and it was hard to swerve out of the way. I decided to use the back cannon it blast me to the front while he got blasted away. I could only use that thing once, so I decide to go back into Speed Form. Soon we entered the city life. That’s when Yougan went wild and began to fire randomly. I went back into Defense Form and began to block attacks, but soon they were getting harder and harder to keep up. Then one was about to hit a building when Tsurara blocked the strike with her defense moves. “Thanks.” I called. “Even.” She answered back. Then both Yougan and Kinzoku, with a smaller cycle, past us and we zoomed after them. Despite the attempts, Yougan pulled back and try to take me out. I pulled back and dodged. He then came back and try to throw me off my ride. Each hit caused me to slide a little till I was about to fall off. He reeled back and went in for the last blow. I heard a crash, but I was fine. I looked to see Tsurara bashed Yougan and both were out of the race. I waved thanks to Tsurara and sped up to catch up to Kinzoku. We reach the last stretch of the race and I was to far to reach Kinzoku. I try to think of may possibilities. My boosters wouldn’t help at this rate and I couldn’t hit him from this far. I then spied a ramp and came up with another idiotic idea that could kill me. I zoomed towards the ramp and hit the booster and the jet waves and I started to spin in a circle towards the goal at a fast pace, but I was still far off. My timing needed to be perfect for this last part. I slowly breathe and asked the machine to land right side up. I stop the jets to a normal pace, but still going at a fast. Now I waited and slowly the wheel landed, but not how I wanted. Instead of hopefully speeding forward to the end, I ended up being flung at a faster pace past not only Kinzoku and the goal line, but into a solid brick wall. Well, it was better then the other possibilities. After a few minutes, I awoke to people around me with Fuu, Mikatu, and Tenku hovering over me. I got up with a massive headache and total body pain follow by screaming over my victory. “I can’t decided if you’re a lucky or unlucky idiot, but good job.” Said Fuu. “I’ll tell you everything later.” Mikatu pat my back to congratulate me, but cause me to fall over. He helped me back up. Then in front of me came a 3 people dressed similar to Fuu. Follow by the three racers bowing then turning to the crowd. “Introducing Don Byakko.” Said Kinzoku. “Presenting Suzaku-dono.” Said Yougan. “Genbu-sama.” Said Tsurara. Everyone, including me barely, bowed in respect as Tenku introduced Fuu or Seiryuu-tono. All 4 congratulated my victory and then congratulated Fuu on his prize. Then they left with Kinzoku and Yougan swearing revenge while Tsurara came up to me. “Thanks for helping.” She gave me a kiss then vanished. “Nice one, Nobody.” Said Mikatu. Patting my back again. I lost the ability to stand and fell to the ground. “Nobody!” I heard someone say as I lost consciousness.
