Chapter 9 Honest Help Part 1 Storm
Flying towards Japan was a bit peaceful. The water was calm, the air was cool on my wings and the moon shown threw the clouds. However within me, being alone, I started to think about what had happen recently; being nearly killed, lack of skills, failing. They surrounded my thoughts and my chest began to feel pains, dark ones. I felt weak, unable to do anything and then the fact I may have killed people. It took a lot of training and focus to get to where I was. Normally, I was unable to even consider hurting people, but eventually, I was able to push through it with not the fact I had to, but the idea of why I needed to. It still left a dark mark in me. The “dark feeling” are feelings of pain, weights pulling me down, a sign of guilt, fear or evil intent mostly. When I am near evil people they give off strong dark waves, the more evil they are the stronger the waves are. Words and actions also increase these feelings sometimes in small waves or big ones. However most people can’t sense this besides things like a “shiver down their spines” or eerie feelings. I can sense it, but I have to know the person, learn of actions and bring them to light. I felt the guilt and fear of my allies and some evil from my enemies. But it also helps stop rumors for if the voice and action are off; the dark waves don’t appear. It is a very hard thing to explain, but once you feel and understand you can’t forget. The dark mark in me was a mix of all feelings and soon my though became on how to get stronger to protect everyone. Then I saw a flash, heard a boom, and felt strong winds. There was a storm over in the distance. The dark feeling in me sparked giving a feeling to rid it by doing the most idiotic move I could make. I flew straight into the thunderstorm. The winds were blew harshly, the waves reached record heights and the lightning struck hard, all to test my skills, my power, my guilt. I flew dodging the elements fearing the worst and soon I began to lose sight, I didn’t know where to go and relied on my instincts to avoid everything. Soon there was an opening in the clouds and exited into eye of the storm, but after a few minutes in the cold temperature my wings began to freeze and I feel hitting the waves and feel into the dark. Feeling of failure and guilt growing as I lost the light.
I woke to find myself in the flower field again. No one was around. I began to wonder what this place was exactly; there were no dark areas here so I decided that I might as well explore. I came across a shrine. I was about to enter it when a white long hair person came and block me. “You can’t enter there right now.” They said. The person wore a light peachy colored cloak and pulled up his hood and turned to show his hair covered his eyes. He spoke in a light tone and had a smile on his face. “Why?” I asked. “You’ll see one day. Till then, come with me.” He ran towards a hill and jumped on the clouds. I followed and we rested. “Tell me, what is on your mind?” “What do you mean?” “You’re feeling guilt, fear, sadness. I know. Please speak.” He pulled a tea set from the clouds and poured some. As I took a drink, I said, “Lately, I have felt that I haven’t been making any progress and then I may fail my friends and become their destroyer on accident.” “Well with a quest like yours it is no surprise. Listen, sometimes, you may have to sacrifice things you wanted to protect, but in the end, your decision is what will ultimately decide what will happen.” “But…what if it is the wrong one?” “Then change it. Look…I’m out of time.” Things began to darken and a hole opened and began to pull me in. “Wait what is it?” “Remember, no one blames you.” Darkness covered me and I closed my eyes
I woke up in a cot. I looked to see my things drying. I removed my mask and let the water out. By the looks I should of drown but didn’t. I look to see my things were dry and put on my clothes. As I did, the door opened behind me. “Glad to see your awake, Sonny.” I turned to see an old man with a long white beard dressed in a straw hat, green shirt and jacket and some shorts with sandals. “ ‘Fraid you were going to die when I found ya floating on top of the waves.” “Where am I?” “Off shore from Japan. Fishing for money. Been a good season. Get away from it all. Want to join?” He sure changed subjects quickly. “Sure.” My stomach growled. I asked embarrassingly, “May I have some food first?” “Sure, first ones on me, but you’ll have to work for the rest.” “Fair enough.” After a nice meal, I began to fish. It was long, boring and took awhile, but feel relaxing. I fell asleep, but quickly awoke when a flash of things came before me. Friends, enemies, etc. “You okay?” Ask the fisherman. “Yes,” I lied. My pole snagged something and I tried to reel it in, but it got away. The old man watched me do this a few times. Then he said, “Boy, your not alright are you?” “No,” I sighed, “ you know who I am right?” “Sort of, but don’t listen to the news much.” “Well. I’ve done many things and I’m beginning to question if it is right.” He pondered, “Hmm, well, there is a saying that runs in my family, ‘Be honest to yourself and everything will come together.’ It has helped me decide what I needed to do through life. Maybe it can help you.” “Honest with myself. Hmm, maybe your right.” Soon my pole caught something and I pulled it in. I caught a big fish. “See like I said. Now lets have a good dinner.” “Thanks, but no thanks, I need to leave soon.” “One night,” He insisted then dragged me. After a long dinner and some sleep. I dressed up and got on deck. “Going sonny?” The old man asked when he appeared on deck. “Yep, thanks…for the advice.” He gave a huge smile. “Anytime.” I let my wings out. “Neat trick.” “Thanks. See ya.” I jumped and flew off. As I headed for shore, the boat disappeared into a mysterious fog. I wondered who that old man was, but focus on the last target. *** Meanwhile in a dark red pool room, a boat appeared. A young man jumped off the boat and took of his guise. A girl with black curly hair came into the room. “I finally found the one I need.” “Good job and welcome back, Seiko Nii-san." To be continued in Part 2: Race
