I will try to make this short. For the millionth time someone has asked me a question that is starting to get old so this is the answer:this is...
the legend of sleepy hollow in my own words. This was a story written by Washington Irving. There was a legend about the headless horseman but Washington Irving made it into a story with characters. This has many different versions including the amazing movie starring Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci and the Disney cartoon narrated by Bing Crosby but this will be a little mix of them all I guess you could say we will see how this goes...
there once was a school teacher named Ichabod Crane. He lived in a small town called Sleepy Hollow.(actually I am not sure if he was supposed to live in Sleepy Hollow or Terre Town I am also not sure if the chase took place there either but I will get to that later.)He was in love with a beautiful woman named Katrina Van Tassel. One day a man named Bram Bones, also in love with Katrina, told Ichabod the legend(I will put that at the bottom.)of the headless horseman to scare Ichabod away. That night Ichabod was riding home on his horse and he went through the woods. He heard a noise and was soon being chased by the headless horseman.Ichabod raced to the bridge that could supposedly save him and once he got across he turned to see the horseman's horse stop dead in his tracks before the bridge just as the legend said but before he could feel relieved the horseman pulled out a flaming jack-o'-lantern and chucked it at Ichabod's head.
The next morning some townspeople came by and all they found was Ichabod's hat and a smashed jack-o'-lantern.
The townspeople never found out if it was just Bram Bones there the night before and Ichabod had run away and started a new life somewhere else far away in fear of the headless man's return or if it was really the horseman and Ichabod had not survived the night.
Bram and Katrina were soon married and Ichabod Crane was never heard from again.

the legend that Bram told Ichabod was the legend of the headless horseman. There are different versions of this too but I always have said that the headless horseman lost his head in a war.Either way the headless horseman is said to be a ghost that rides around the woods on his horse at night with his sword looking for a new head and will chop of yours if you are not careful but all ghost have boundaries that they cannot cross there is supposedly a bridge that he cannot cross and so if you cross the bridge you are safe but tell that to Ichabod Crane. wink
