Just Need You Now
Layla had been used to the silence of the forest, her only friends being the small creatures of the vast forest she walked about. After being rejected of her own kingdom after her family's death, the forest had become her home. She had not been a princess, no woman of any set importence in the kingdom, she was just herself. The pretty woman who sang in town and had a soft spot for young children. When her mother died of old age, her father already out of the picture, and her elder brother's death at battle, she had been rejected by the kingdom's people. She didn't find a reason to be in a place where everyone simply disliked her, so she left. From that point on, she grew acoustumed to the silence, and the loneliness.
That was until a man of the kingdom who had fuaght aganst her own, a man of those who killed her brother. Though, she would not hold that to him, she was no longer of a kingdom, and the forest was no place for kingdoms. He became close to her, traveling along side her and even keeping her safe from those of the battle who traveled the forest from time again. She was greatful for his company, and slowly seemed to be falling in love with him, that was until one night in her sleep, he simply up and left. Since then, she refused to speak much, just hum and give small motions. She didn't feel like getting close to anything or anyone again, for she knew that the bond could too easily be broken, she was scared of all the pain from that.
At that moment, Layla simply sat beside a small brooke that broke threw the forest, her eyes watching the water in movement. A small pout was set on her pretty face as she remebered the pain of when he left, not a single word of goodbye or reason to it spoken to her. She would have thought they had become close enough that he could tell her such a little thing. She raised a hand up to her cheak, gently whipeing away the few tears that had escaped her eyes before looking upward. Of course, she missed him, she wanted to know he was safe, at the very least. Though she always was scared he might not be out there anymore, that he had bitten off too much to chew. She sighed softly and looked down again. " Why did you leave?" She whimpered to herself in a small voice. " I miss you so much,.... And I've been so scared since you left,.. More assasins have pass threw the forest. They're actually extemly scary,.. " She sighed until jumping and almost falling forward at the sound of a voice behind her.
" Scary, huh?" A chuckle fallowed it as Layla cuaght herself and quickly glanced back to see who it was.
