My Arena Wins
Why people, why do you nag about the "smile"? What smile?
She doesn't look happy. She has sad eyes. Only one critic
(Rennie Bee) was observantly smart enough to notice this.
Maybe if kids would stop being so judgmental and knew a little
something about royalty they would understand this.

She wanders in her woodland garden, mourning for her love.
Still fancily dressed for the Gala to welcome him home.
The telegram's fateful words say he fought brave his
last day of war. Though her heart ached, she never lost her grace.
The proud Countess Von Essa
Please note: Her mouth may have a slight smile,
but her eyes look sad. The public may not be in her
garden, she must keep her composure, as they are
waiting at the Gala, not knowing the tragedy yet.

I honestly get fed-up with hearing "it's overdone".
It isn't overdone if it's done differently. I also read
one critique "Anyone can do this". Well, if anyone can
do it then why was I the only who did it this way.
THAT is what should be judged on. I only wish if there
are going to be critics,
there would only be those with knowledge and common sense
and not a bunch of picky Simons (he's obviously a bad influence).
But I'm only an adult who has grown up "been there done that",
raised kids has grandkids. What do I know? (sarcasm of course)

popular street fashions that is growing in popularity
in the Western world today. The style often is meant
to make the wearer look doll-like, sweet and/or elegant."

Many assume Steampunk is all neutral colors, typically
black and brown. This is not true. In fact, any
Victorian color will fit the scene. Another common
combo is black pink together.

When it is dark
I will light your way.
When you lose your step
I will light your way
When you fall
I will be with you always.

I wasn't too sure about entering it.
I was trying to have a meaning behind the scene.
Like the lantern representing a spiritual light to
guide our way as those stumble through their spiritual life.
I added the hair again, even though it has a belle style,
it also has a fantasy look. I just didn't know of any
other hair. It's kind of a "doomed if you do, doomed
if you don't". I wanted to add more of a gothic look to her,
as I don't approve of people assuming angels are white
robes, and such. I liked how the legs went with the dress,
showing the outline of her hip. I couldn't remember what
items had lanterns. I was tying to add newer items.
I made this when these items first arrived.
In a forum I was bashed for having the lantern, saying the
moon was out giving enough light to see. Not true. I added
the crescent moon. Crescent moons are not bright enough
to fully see the ground, especially through a path with
tall grass. Even with a full moon we can't see every step
we take. Don't we normally use flashlights to help us
wonder in the night? Therefore, having the crescent moon
it is a realistic situation. If Gaia allowed more space,
I would have explained my items, as some people
can't see reasoning.

I've lived in Nashville, Tennessee for 8 years now and
I decided to make a Southern Belle. It is quite different
here in the south, as I am originally from Arizona.
(I've lived in a total of four states across the U.S).

The dog is for the scene and not because of his character.
The hair for the style, very authentic for Southern Belles.

#2 in my "America's History in Photographs" Series.
Victorian Silhouette 1860.
1860 was the beginning of the Victorian era.
Dresses with bustles began at this time.
To get the full effect in the back, a cage was often used.
By 1867 the style became softer, and no longer
needed the cage to create a bustle.
Lace gloves, fans, and hats or bonnets were worn.
