Lena Horn has died. There is so much I could say about her dignity and strength in the face of segregation and racist bullshit inside and outside of the entertainment industry and what it meant to a lot of young girls growing up at a time when the only black folks on the screen were comic relief racist stereotypes to see a black woman of her talent and elegance up there performing. She broke so many barriers. She was 92, and lived an extremely full life. I salute you, Ms. Horne.
