Thanks to those of you suggesting Felix Castor. I'm enjoying the first one right now. I'm also rereading some old hellraisers, since there was a question I might have misremembered the quality of the earlier product. Rather than get a friend and a ladder to try to excavate the memorial comic collection, I checked to see what the library carried. It's spotty. They did have one of the ones between the first collection and where I picked up. the art was substandard and the story so so. The one that just came is from early on when I fisrt started reading, after the lung cancer, containing the start of Kit. yes, they are as good as I remembered with quality art and story telling that grabbed me. Ha! I do need to make a correction. It seems I came in before his 40th, not his 50th birthday, though obviously, I read through both. Still, he's pushing 60, and I still have trouble suspending disbelief that he could bounce back from benders and beatings like he does. I still think the writing the last few years is less compelling.
