So, since I'm on the tennis team I had to go to that program thing last night along with a bunch of other sports teams. I really didn't feel like going because I just had practice and I had homework..so I practically had about 1 1/2 hours of free time ;^; But after all this complaining I've done, I kinda realized it was worth going. I really liked it. But at the same time, it was really sad. A woman name Sarah gave a speech about how drinking and driving changed her life. She was a 2 time all American champion at volley ball and went on a world tour, even almost got to play for the Olympics, Beijing 2008. Unfortunetly, she retired so she couldn't play. Her team even got the silver metal. She really loved volley ball. But then she dropped out of school. At the age of 19, she worked as a bar tender..obviously underage. She could just drink whenever she wanted. But one day, she got drunk, and tried driving home by herself. You probably couldn't guess what happened next.. She blacked out, the car slammed into the rail, and flipped four times over and landed on the roof while she hung outside her car, but pieces of her body flying everywhere. yes, pieces of her body. The glass cut her arm clean off, and parts of her scalp were scattered everywhere. She also had her jaw broken in 7 places. She was basically given 0% chance of survival..but somehow managed to live. She was given so many surgeries to just to make her look better. I thought it was so sad..just thinking the fact that she doesn't have anymore friends. But the good that came out of it, she could save others' lives by passing her story down and plus her mom and her are best friends more than ever, as they did not get along very well before the accident. Now, you may have thought while she was giving the speech that she got emotional and stuff. but actually, she was really cool. She's a kiss-a** chick! I love her. haha I was thinking throughout to give her a hug. I was sitting next to Jun..saying that I won't cry. They left, and I went up to her, asked her if I could get a hug, and after letting her go, I just burst into tears. She was so inspirational..and she really opened up my eyes more. She was so beautiful up there (and believe me, when she was in highschool she was soo pretty!). -sigh- I would love to hang out with her for a day..that'd be the shiz. hell yes.
