 a girl's first love.
such a wonderful thing.
and she never lets go.
she hangs on by a string..
she loves him endlessly, hopelessly, completely.
she never puts a stop to what her heart can see.
she gives him her all..
her everything..
her soul..
he is the piece that makes her complete.
the piece that makes her whole.
then, eventually, the fairy tale dies.
everything falls apart with betrayal and lies.
he breaks her down..
breaks her heart..
breaks her soul.
no longer the one that completes her and makes her whole.
the hateful things he said ringing in her ears
never leaving her head.
breaking her down more and more..
finally after so much pain.. with nothing left..
she tells him goodbye.
then curls up in her bed to cry.
the tears never ending..
the pain forever there.
the memories never leaving of his unforgettable stare.
how could he turn his back to her..
and break her fragile heart?
she loved him with her all..
and he ripped her a part..
but after so long she starts to move on..
tears getting weaker..
heart growing stronger..
pain slowly healing..
anger her main feeling.
she gives him up.
she dries her tears..
looks to her future years.
she puts the past behind her.
day after day the pain goes away..
and she just tells herself..
"It'll all be ok."
eventually, she wakes up..
and it doesn't hurt anymore.
the memories remain.
the hurtful words he spoke all the same..
but she knows the process made her stronger.
and in her past cries she knows..
first love never dies..
but now it's time to let it go.
years go by and she doesnt cry.
her life finally back in order.
she never forgets but she doesnt hurt..
not anymore.
she still thinks about him..
wonders how he is.
what he is doing.
where he'll be.
and she can't help but wonder...
"does he ever think about me?"
more time goes by..
with years the months die..
and she finds herself with a new life.
new friends..
new heart..
new man..
new start..
finally a smile that she isn't faking.
her heart is no longer broken
and with her new life she forgets her old love.
she lives her life forward..
never looks back..
and more months die into years.
then out of the blue..
she ran into someone she knew..
memories flooding back in a wink.
her heart feels funny..
and she doesnt even know what to think.
same eyes,
same smile,
same laugh,
same smell,
same hug,
same voice,
same man..
accept..something different in his words.
so humble, so sweet.
not at all the same man that broke her heart.
she shakes it all off..
and ignores the returning memories..
she pretends she doesnt remember the pain.
she puts on so many acts..
and ignors all of the facts.
not letting her true feelings show.
she wants to be his friend..
and to never let it end..
because something about him still makes her glow..
she tries to remember how he hurt her..
but she still cant bring herself to let him go..
she remembers the good times..
lets go of the bad...
and just lets the friendship take place..
she forgets what happened way-back-when..
she says...
"now that i have you back in my life, i don't think i can handle to lose you again."
