Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
-Robert Frost
Ice and Fire
How can the world end in fire,
If it represents love and desire?
The burning passions of the heart,
Which humans use to create their art.
Only ice knows true pain,
As I suffer all the same.
I freeze here, cold and alone,
Being chilled down to the bone.
I tell you now, you don't know hate,
Ice is destruction, and that is our fate.
