Alright here’s the effect:
Spectator removes a handful of change. The magician takes a quarter from the pile.
The coin is marked with an “X” to prove that only one coin is used throughout the routine.
The magician vanishes the coin whereupon it reappears inside the cap of the marker.
The magician claims he will cause the coin to vanish entirely by tapping it three times with the magic marker. He does so and the marked coin vanishes completely.
The magician gestures with the magic marker to the spectator’s pocket.
When the spectator removes the change from their pocket the marked coin is back where it began.
