I got lost in space. So lost.
Then I found the Northern Star. So bright.
I embraced its light. So warm.
I then knew my place in the sky. With it.
Oh love's cruel game.
That star was like no other. Not one.
That star was my friend. So close.
I loved that star. I did.
Its brightness shining on me. So wise.

I wanted that star all to myself. So much.
It helped guide me. So kind.
I told that star I loved it. With hope.
But that star, it was lost, too. Heart torn.

Must I sail aimlessly? Please no.
There is only one Northern Star. Just one.
I will not leave it. I won't.
That star will be mine to guide for a change. Some day.
