He stood on a plain, empty except for a dead willow tree. Somehow the area seemed fake, like something was off. "Are you sure about this? There's turning back you know." a voice asked calmly. He said something in response, but couldnt understand. "True, but I think you may come to regret it." He asked a question by the tone of his voice, and tried to see who he was talking to.... "This takes you out of our jurisdiction __________" it was garbled, like his responses. "I just think that you and __________ will never truly become whole." He replied with something sarcastic, or something quiet. "Are you ready?" Are you?
He woke with a start, his head fogged and not really knowing exactly what was going on.... Deet-Deet! Deet-Deet his phone rang, letting him know that he'd recieved a text. It was his friends, asking where he was. He replied that he was on his way, and apologized. It wasnt often he and his friends could get together, not since they graduated a few months ago. He'd felt left behind, they all had lives, and he was still bumming on his parents dime and looking for a job. Pulling on his clothes and grabbing his wallet, he tried to wake up a bit more, something just felt off. Fully dressed he reached for the handle of the door as his radio blared. "Hey, hey Maryland! Are you Ready?!" Are you Ready? His head blazed with pain, and he felt ill, but it dissappeared in a few seconds. "Whats with me today..." he muttered to himself. Grabbing his keys, he left the house, got in the car and drove to the mall. It was strangely deserted on the road, almost creepily quiet. While the drive was creepy, he got to the mall without incident. "Where have you been, we've been waiting man!" one of his friends called from the door. "The others left to go wander, we're meeting infront of the theater in an hour. Dont be late this time, ok?" He nodded and put a hand to his head. "Sorry, I felt kind off this morning." His friend put a hand on his shoulder reassuringly. "No problem. Just call next time, ok?" "Aiight." he replied. Almost like magic, the area filled with people leaving the mall and one caught his eye. "Impossible...." he breathed out. Not possible... she couldnt exist.... His friend looked at him strangely, but he paid no mind. Rushing through the crowd after her, he paid little mind to his surroundings focused on the impossiblility of the girl he was chasing. He ran and ran without stop, but still drew no closer, not slowing until he realized that he was in the middle of a street. Are you ready? "Yes" he whispered. The truck's horn blared as it slammed into his body, throwing him like a ragdoll onto the pavement where he skidded, and stopped. As he lost conciousness, he managed to look at the sky and smile. Three seconds later he was dead.
