WTH is "Pony Boys' Day"?!
||
I've been looking forward on our trip to Baguio since last month. I mean, 2010 started out really crappy for me and I really need my long-awaited vacation. Baguio's Panagbenga, or internationally known as "Flower Festival", is something I've been hoping to experience first hand ever since I got my regular job.

I YMed Aehrys to ask her some info about the event and checked the event schedule. I'm they type who's a worry wart when it comes to out-of-town event schedules. Aside from the fact that our transient house is located in La Trinidad (which is 30 minutes or so away from the main city), we also worry about the number of people and traffic during the festivities.

One activity got both our attention though and it's called "Pony Boys' Club"..

I though I was the only one who finds this name amusing but it's funny that Aehrys was able to flow along my wavelength. Lolz~ What the heck is a "Pony Boys Club"? I mean, maybe the organizers of the club just want to come up with some light, spiffy, attention-grabbing name (which they did!) and thought of "Pony Boys Club" but.. *rofl* It just sounds so wrong!!!

Not that we're making fun of the name.. We both think it's smart and different! Well, it does sounds like an event organized by gay bars *hides from people for being an @$$* Anyway, taking a break from work, here are some theories that yours truly have formulated:

1. A group of young jockeys who gathered because they all have the same passion: Horses; And we do know that jockey clubs and horses are real famous in Baguio City
2. A group of young jockeys who innocently joined in for fun but the name are made up by the not-so-innocent organizers
3. A group of guys who takes care of horses
4. Another Jockey Club in Baguio City

Some lines I thought up while talking with Aehrys:

Scenario1 (Aehrys and I attending the event):
"Kim, hurry up! We can't be late for the Pony Boys Day!!!"

Scenario2 (2 guys attending the event. We're talking about macho-buff guys here):
Dude1: Oi dude, let's go to Pony Boys Day
Dude2: Yeah Dude.. Can't wait to check out the Ponies/Pony Boys

*ROFL*

To those who have idea on what this event is, please feel free to inform me since we're all curious about this event. Lolz~ I hope my post won't aggravate or insult anyone. It's all just for fun ^_^ To add, I'm also curious on what "Abanao Nights" is.

Again, I'm super excited for our Baguio Trip~ Arashi fans who are in Baguio, see you soon!!! I want to meet you guys again and this time, I'll be on your turf ~_^ Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu~

UPDATE:
Finally got my answer from Panagbenga Secretariat Office. "Pony Boys' Day" is actually an event in Wright Park which consists of several sports activities involving the pony boys (I assume either the horse caretakers or jockey).

"Abanao Nights", on the other hand, is like a battle of the bands event where the streets are closed for the celebration of the said event and various stalls are set up.
