---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Lynn--------------------- The limo had black tinted windows. It caused the inside of it to be pitch black…to a human at least. Lynn streched her arms and slumped in her seat. Michael lay across from her. His body filled the entire. Sleeping he actually looked innocent. Lynn blew that notion off quickly. She watched his chest rise and fall steadily. A bottle of blood sat in her lap and she slowly tore the wraped on it. It’d been about two days since she was changed into a Dhampir. She’d had no contact with the outside world…excluding the little scene with the skyscraper. Since then Michael had been making her drink from water bottles. He’d leave at night to fill himself and the bottle up. She drank the blood, but not happily. Her Vampiric side was all to joyful whenever it got just a drop, her human side gagged continuiosly. Lynn tried concentrating on the Vampiric side. That made the blood a bit more drinkable. “You’re up early.” Michael looked over at Lynn. His eyes were half shut and covered by his wavy brown hair. He turned onto his back and stared at the roof of the limo. “So wonderful of you to notice Master.” She used a bland tone with him and used a sarcastic voice whenever she said master. “You don’t need to be such a sour puss Lynn. We’re nearing our destanation. I’d give it another 2 hours.” “What’s a two hour wait compared to the permanate life I’ll be forced to live?” His eyes slid slowly towards her. The colors in them swam around in her head. “You need to calm down Lynn.” He’d been a bit nicer since the change. He’d only thrown her out of the limo while it was going 5 miles above the speed limit 5 times now. Each time she’d forgotten to say master. Her clothes kept ripping so she’d finally started saying master. He’d bought her some new ones and Lynn sadly had to admit he had good taste. Today she wore a black henley with darkwash skinny jeans. He’d also gotten her new hightop black converse and a white, pin-stripe fadora. Although she’d objected to wearing the fadora at first, it’d slowly grown on her. They bought other clothes about once a week. “Why? I’ve been unwilling turned into a Dhampir by a vampire who can’t get over the loss of a some woman who I look like. And here I thought my albino genes wouldn’t ever get me in trouble.” She snapped the words at him. He sighed and sat up. Lynn went still and he moved beside her. “Lynn. I can kill you at any moment I feel like. If all I wanted you for was to be another Lily then I’d have disposed of you the second you became a Dhampir and searced for another like her.” His words were spoken in a nonchalant manner. “But I didn’t did I?” She kept her mouth closed and he spoke again. “Did I?” “No…..” He raised an eyebrow. “No, master.” She spoke deflatedly. “I didn’t. I decided I’d keep you around. I wish with all of my broken heart that I still had my Lily, but if you’re all I can have, then I’ll take you.” His hand patted her thigh. She flinched and he sighed again. “If you just behaved and followed instructions, things would be a lot better Lynn.” She tried to sustain her words but they flowed out, along with her pink tears. “How can things be better!? I’ll never see my family and friends again! I have to live off of what I once was! All I can think about is blood, blood, and blood. When I’m not thinking about that I’m scared or trying to figure out how to wake up from this nightmare! Not to mention you knowing my every. Single. Thought!” She planted her head in her hands and sobbed. Michael went to put his arm around her but she jerked away. “A, you’re a Dhampir. You’ll live on to see things you never would have. You’ll watch your family expand and your friends as well-” “HOW CAN I DO THAT IF YOU WON’T EVEN LET ME CALL THEM?!” “We’ve gone over this. Once I settle things down with the head coven, I’ll let you see everyone again.” He pulled her into his arms and stroked her hair. She quivered and he held her tighter. “I never wanted this Mi….Master.” He pulled away from her. “Okay Lynn. I’ll make a deal with you. I can’t undo what’s been done. I’m only coming out of my own self wallowing to realize you’re still only a child. If I let you see your family and friends again, and stop having you call me master, with the exception of being in Vampiric Public, you have to promise that when you come to terms with this, you won’t fight it.” His voice was sincere and Lynn sat there considering her options. “How long would I see them?” “Until you’re able to move on. Of course, you’ll still be my Dhampir so even though I’m not with you physically, I’ll be with you mentally. Thus I’ll know if you break the deal.” She nodded understandingly. “I……accept Michael.” She still wished this hadn’t happened. But if he was willing to let her off her leash, just enough to make her happy, Lynn would grab onto it and never let go. He took her hand and pressed his nail against her palm. Then he did it to himself. Squashing their hands together Lynn felt a mild tingling in her hand. “You’ve just made your first blood oath Lynn. If you break if you’ll find pain worse than you thought. Sometimes it’s resulted in deaths.” He fixed a serious look onto her and she nodded compliantly. “Okay. We’ve got about a hour left now.” “Where exactly are we going anyways Michael?” He smiled knowingly. “That’s simple Lynn. We’re going to the head coven.” “What’ll that do Michael?” “They’ll make it so the humans don’t use this as an excuse to banish us.” “Where…..” “Could they banish us? Well, it won’t be so much banning as hunting.” The word made Lynn shudder. “What and who will they use?” “Most likely they’ll hire the werewolves…..or go so far as to obtain the help of the shapeshifters. The witches have been apart of human society for so long and the fae prefer not to be at war.” “You mean there are other creatures out there?!” Lynn’s eyes went large like a childs. Michael gave a small chuckle. “There are?” “Yes Lynn. The witches are the most common and have been active with humans the longest. Nowadays humans try to caterogerize them as those following the religion of wicca, but that’s just 10% of what a witch really is. “Werewolves?” “They tend to live with the Indian cultures in mountainous areas. Werewolves dislike us due to the fact that we can be in human form 24/7. They’re quite a jealous race actually. But they’re also extremely reasonable.” “Shapeshifters and Fae?” “The shapeshifters are actually from another galaxy. It’ll take advanced equipment to reach the entire race, but if a human is lucky enough they’ll meet a shapeshifter. The shifters prefer living in water based enviorments. That’s where the idea of mermaids came from. The fae have made themselves notorious in European cultures, but are quite peaceful. They’re excellent doctors and such.” Lynn sat there stupified. She’d had enough issues coming to terms with the idea of actuall Vampires. All these other races blew her world up to enormous proportions. “Are….are those the only other creatures?” “No…..well….they’re the only other creatures that have survived extinction.” His face went dark. “How……” She didn’t really want to hear how the other creatures had gone extinct, but her curiousity was a bit more overpowering then her fear. “Humans.” She gulped. This conslusion, though ever so cliché, was very believable. “What were some of those races?” He looked over at her and chuckled saddly. “It’s coincedince actually. There were three.” He sat back in his seat and closed his eyes. “The Gods, the Angels, and the Satans. Funny how even though humans worship these creatures, even though they were the ones who killed them…” Lynn’s breath was momentairily gone. “That unbelievable huh?” He opened one eye and kept his focus on her. “The Gods were special. They had ultimate elemental control. You know the elements table?” She nodded rapidly. “Each element name is actually the name of it’s God. Zinc, Iron, they’re all Gods. The most well known are Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. The shapeshifters could be the Gods of space. The rarest of the Gods was one who wasn’t even an element. Time, refered to nowadays as Father Time.” Lynns mouth gaped open. “The-” “Angels? They had surperb physic powers. They could make you live your worst nightmare, a simple thought could change the world.” He snickered. “They were the ones who cause the Satan’s extinction. All it took was a carpenter named Jesus.” Lynn’s breath came quickly. “They convinced him there was only one god, not an elemental by the way, and that they were his angels. They told Jesus God wanted him to go around and tell everybody about Him and make sure everyone knew that there was an evil called Satan who they must go against.” Lynn’s eyes were full of childish wonder. “So then the-” “Satans went extint.” Confusion crossed her features. “How could they? Just because the Angels told him to say that…..” She wrinkled her brow in thought. “The Satans specialized in physical and emotional powers. They were a very tiny race.” “In size?” “In population.” “How many were there?” “Seven.” She drew in a sharp breath. “The seven deadly sins right?” He nodded. “There were only seven Satans….and they were the seven deadly sins?!” Lynn practically fell out of the seat and onto to limo’s floor. “You seem totally bewildered.” He rose an eyebrow at her. “Bewildered is just the beginning!” Then Lynn stopped. “Okay, so they were the seven deadly sins….How does a human going against them effect that?” He smirked. “There is a time not known of in any record. Well, human record. It is known as the Holy Rebellion. In that time, an Angel, Yamala, was deeply in love with the Satan of Greed. Despite what you think, he wasn’t overwhelmed by Greed. Quite the opposite actually. He lacked it.” She looked at him puzzeledly. “He had no greedieness whatsoever. But, every human he came in contact with, like all the other Satans, became whatever sin he/she was. Yamala was an Angel, thus he couldn’t effect her. Their love was like that of Romeo and Juliete’s, but with a surprising twist at the end.” “Well?” Her eagerness to know was amusing to Michael. “I would love to continue the story Lynn. But it seems I can’t.” “Why?” She whined unhappily. “Because we’re here.” Lynn went frigid. “We’re at the coven?” She asked in a tiny voice. “Yes.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tam----- The room was now in total darkness. But life swam all around it. The people in the room to her left had their children and the people in the room to the right were staying there for their hunnymoon. Tam pulled the down pillow over her ears and hummed Broken ft. Amy Lee by Seether. Her Dhampir hearing was better then a Humans and the humming couldn’t block out the noises from the hunnymooners. She made a gagging noise and sat up. Her hair was ruffled and sticking in an unorderly fashion. She ran her hands through it. Standing up and streching to her full length Tam reviewed why she was here and where she needed to go. Walking groggily to the bathroom, she turned on the shower. The light was off and Tam unnessicarily turned it on. Burning red eyes popped out of the mirror at her and she stumbled backwards. A tiny scream started in her mouth, then she realized the creature in the mirror was herself. The bathroom slowly filled with steam, it gave the air a sticky feeling. Tammy stepped into the shower and sighed in content as the hot water ran down her cold body. Tammy. She yelped and spun in the shower. Calm down, it’s Caleb. It took a few seconds but Tammy remebered why she was hearing him. They’ve reached the Coven Tammy. Coven?....Oh, that Coven she thought. Well? Is she…..? Lynn’s not a Savaniant. Tammy let out a sigh of reliefe. She’s a Dhampir though. Tammy bit her lip. She tried to find comfort that her friend wasn’t a brainless slave..but the thought of Lynn being a Dhampir, as well as being Michaels made her uneasy. They’ve come to seek shelter from the humans and Michael is going to hold an audience with the head of the Coven tomorrow to explain the situation. How is she? Other then her occansional “Yes master.” She seems to be fine, a little frayed and she keeps getting a faraway look. Tammy slammed her fist against the shower wall. It left a deep imprint of her hand. He’s making her call him master! Tammy. You need to hurry up and get here. Your only a day or two away by car. His voice was slightly urgent. Tammy grunted and turned off the shower. She dried herself off and threw on a plain, white, spagettih strap tanktop with a pair ofwhite skinny jeans. She turned the main room light on and searched for some socks. As she was pulling on her shoes the cleaning service knocked. A succulent scent drifted through the door to Tammy. She snatched up her sunglasses and let the plump woman in. The scent filled the room and Tammy swallowed back a moan. I’ll help you Tammy. Let go. Tammy closed her eyes as Caleb took over. Instead of the blood lake she was on a country porch swinging in a hanging chair. The fields in front of her had softly swaying grass. Where am I? Caleb didn’t answer and Tammy didn’t press the matter. She swung slowly and pondered how she’d get into the Coven. A weight settled down on the other side of the swing, pulling Tammy out of her thoughts. She looked over to see Caleb lounging and watching her. “Hi.” She couldn’t think of much else to say to the man. “Hallo.” He gave her a dimpled smile. “I see you like this place.” He gestured towards the field and surrounding area. “Hm? Oh, yeah. It’s nice. Where is it exactly?” She leaned back in the swing and glanced over at him. “It’s in central England. When it’s not raining that is.” His chuckle was handsome and suited him. “How’d you find it?” “I lived here.” She tilted her head. “I grew up here and when I finally decided to leave I took a part of it with me.” He tapped his chest. “I see. Caleb….You were born as a Vampire right?” He chuckled again and sighed in recollation. “Indeed. When this world came into exsistence there were four main creatures. The Gods, Angles, Satans, and Humans.” She nodded, having part of his memory she knew some about the three non human creatures. “During a war, the Angels basically drove the Satans to extinction. But, a child of an Angel and a Satan was hidden from the others. That child is known to the Vampires as the Original. She was the daughter of-” “The Angel Yamala and the Satan of Greed right?” “Indeed. The Original was more like her mother and was very pure. She was a daughter of a Satan though, so to balance the good it was inevitable she’d thrist for that which her mother was against, literally. So the Original-” He stood up. His eyes had gone black. Tammy shrunk back slightly. “Yes, yes. Coming.” He looked down at Tammy. “I’m needed elsewhere love. I suggest you get back to your body and hurry to the Coven.” He smiled again then disappeared. She sat there wondering why he’d called her ‘love’. When Tammy re-entered her body all she saw was a tiny dot of red on her shirt. Pulling on her splatter-paint hoddie she zipped it up and tapped the top of each foot on the floor. Not wanting to know what Caleb had done to the lady Tammy left the room and paid on her way out. She yawned and finally realized why the desk clerk had given her a weird look. It was about 10 o’ clock and she was just checking out. Tammy looked around. With her new vision it looked to be about midday. She shrugged and walked down the street. She needed a car and didn’t know how to get it. A 24/7 mart’s neon lights flashed at her. She debated wheter she needed to spend her little money on expensive dollar goods. Her stomach rumbled and Tammy decided to get a soda. She entered to 3 by Brittany Spears playing through invisible speakers. The clerk nodded at her and she grabbed a Dr. Pepper from the back coolers. At the check-out counter an ad caught her eye. Are you in need of a Car? Coincidence she wondered. If you are then you’re in luck! We’re offering whoever can recite the entire Declartion of Independence in 30 minutes a free car! Contest starts Tomorrow! “When did you put that ad up sir?” Tam tapped a nail against the ad. “Today. Why? You interested?” He licked his lips and regarded her with a superior expression. “I think you’re a little young to be needing a car. Much less being able to recite that.” His voice was quite snobby and Tammy dug her nails into her fist to keep from digging them into him. The clerk sweat in the bright lights. She could see each drop and concertrated on them. “What would a little girl do with a car? Drive to the fair and ride the merry go-round?” He snorted and flicked his fingers at her. “Get outta here kid.” Tam lost it. She lurched across the counter and grabbed the man by his collar, her hand clenched the coarse fabric tightly. His eyes grew huge. “Listen jerk.” She hissed. “I’m am beyond ticked off and right now you’re patheticness isn’t helping. I suggest you shut your gapping mouth.” Something inside of Tammy screamed for his blood. Pictures of various ways she could rip open his throat played through her head. Each was more enticing then the other. Do it. Said the thing. Tammy bit her lip and let go of his collar. “Where…..”The lust in her voice was unmistakeable. “Where is this taking place?” She pointed at ad again. The clerk licked his lips again. He smoothed his shirt with quaking hands. “It’s uh….” He swallowed and took a breath to calm himself. “It’s at the town park.” He stepped back a few feet. Tammy leaned forward again and yanked him back with a bit to much force. He crashed into the counter and swore. Tammy pulled a pen from a side dish and flipped the reciet around. “Write the directions.” She commaned harshly. The clerk took the pen but it slipped from his fingers onto the floor. He mumbled a string of apologies and bent to retrive it. Tammy tilted her head backwards and rolled her shoulders. A sudden ringing went off in the store. Tammy went stiff and kicked the counter. Then man was hiding below it with a cell phone. Tammy’s enhanced hearing picked up on the police womans voice on the other line. She growled and in a flash had the phone under her shoe. She crushed it slowly and glared at the cowering man. The thing inside her screamed again. This time Tammy gave in. She lurched forward and shoved a hand into his stomach. The clerks insides were wet around her hand. She reached in further and grabbed his spine. “Too bad, all you had to do was write directions.” She said in a disembodied voice. Tammy twisted the bones. Each gave off a satisfying crunching noise. The man who had died as soon as her hand had entered sat in a growing pool of blood. Tammy puckered her lips and blew him a kiss. “Oh well, too late now.” She said in the voice again. Sirens blared in the distance. Tammy looked up and sighed. She kicked the man in the ribs, giving off another crunching noise. Tammy grabbed the Dr. Pepper and ran out of the store. The red and blue lights closed in around it. The colors were blinding in the dark. She rushed away from the town. Her bag bumped continuosly against her, the laptop and rifle weighed it down. The air whipped around her, tangling her hair and drying her eyes. Tammy! What just happened! Caleb’s anger flooded through her and she winced. I….gave into my desires? Tammy wanted to avoid trying to remember the moments when she’d not really been herself and had killed the man. What desires?! Did you make an undead?! Uhh………minus the ‘un’. WHAT!!! He yelled loudly in her mind. Tammy tripped and fell on her face. It felt like she’d landed on a mattress, there was a scratch here and there. Tammy sat cross legged on the road. She pouted into the night. I know it was wrong! But something kept telling me to do it. I got really angry and it just took over. Sorry for giving into my…my instincts! Caleb was silent. Then she felt as if someone had punched her in the gut. Tammy toppled over and lost it. The ground was covered in a thick red liquid. Tears spilled down Tammy’s cheeks as the puking continued unti l she felt that it was her soul she was losing in the road. Don’t. Ever. Do. That. Again. Caleb’s voice was pure ice. It made Tammy feel as if she was standing in the artic, wearing only a bikini. The pain from her stomach and his stomach were overwhelming. Tammy stood up. Her whole body felt like a wet noodle. She stumbled a few steps then fell again. The ground was cool and Tammy wanted to die right there. The stench from her vomit drifted through the air to her. Tammy gagged and puked again. She crawled onto her hands and knees. It took all her strenght to stand. One foot slid forward. The next was just as slow. Tammy wanted to get away from the odor and collapse. She mumbled why over and over. The question enveloped her in a suffocating embrace. When she was a good mile away Tammy found a small farmers field. It appeared to be abandoned and Tammy shuffled into the old barn. Scents of hay and the night played in the air. She dropped into a haystack and hiccuped. Her throat burnt and the vomit scent clung to her clothes. Tammy’s favorite hoodie was soiled. She stripped it off along with her jeans. Laying in her tanktop and underwear, Tammy savored the cool air. She burrowed into the hay and closed her eyes. What would have felt like hundereds of prickly stems digging into her, now felt like soft, caressing, feathers. The sun peaked in through a broken window. It illuminated the barn and dark red clothing. A stray cat wandered by, not noticing the Dhampir curled in the hay. Back a ways, blood covered a large area. Even further back, doctors were studying the gruesome murder of a 49 year old, male clerk. The day began, promising to be as dark as the night before it.
People ask me how/why I came up with the idead for Vampire Eyes. I blush and say that I stole ideas from random books and movies and smooshed them all together, hoping that end result would be a book worth reading. I have lots of friends into the whole Vampire shmel and it gets competitive when writing stories about Vampires.-nods for emphasis- I had a really wonderful dream about a vampire who was going to kill two men and a woman. The womans younger sister pleaded with him to take her instead of them. The vampire, rather then killing the girl, took her soul. (It was all shiny and blue, quite pretty really.) The townspeople lived in fear of the Vampire and the woman who’s life had been spared gathered a mob to go after him. All the while, the vampire had found a gorgeous antique doll and put the girls spirit in it. He then escaped the town, moments before the mob got to his castle, with the girl, and showed her the true Vampire world. That dream really got me hooked on Vampires.-weird happy face- I want to incorperate it into Vampire Eyes. There’s a lot of demand for fantasy books, particullary Vampire ones, right now. I want my book to stand out in the world of Vampires and that’s why I try so hard.-more nodding- The explanations of how things came to be, the details about how the body transforms, are all things I have to be picky about. I can’t have golden eyed vampires, that’s Meyer’s department. And now that I’ve introduced all these other creatures, I’m obligied to write about them. Which means more smooshing and more pickyness. Oh joy. –smirks-
