I was there.
You were too.
The fire in our eyes.
The sparks that flew.

One mistake caused a meltdown
One mistake shed tears.
We broke away from everything.
We ran away because of our fears.

A bitter silence fell upon us.
No words we would say.
"Please tell her I love her"
Each night I would pray.

I spoke once more.
We tried to be friends.
Knowing we'd be screwed
if someone caught us in the end.

I tried to hide my feelings.
I convinced myself its over.
Then tonight it occured to me
my feelings only grew closer.

I regret many things,
even though I shouldn't.
I regret words I said,
the ones I wanted to but couldn't.

I miss your smile
your crystal clear eyes.
The way you made me laugh
when I wanted to cry.

I miss the giggle you made
with every corny joke I had.
And how no matter what I did
you wouldnt get mad.

I remember the 1st time we met.
Just a friend of a friend.
You had a man already.
But my I didn't care then.

We talked for hours.

I poured my heart out.

Our bodys broken,
from love's clenched fist.
But it didnt matter,
as long as it was you I was with.

The pieces are picked up.
