I'm starting to write a story about Lucifer's life in Heaven and his life in hell. This is the introduction I wrote. It took up a lot more space on notebook paper than it does here, haha.

When one is very well-liked in a certain class or group of people, they can easily become arrogant and greedy. When this happens, they are cast down from their position and forced to live a poignant life of shame.
This has happened to me, for I dwell here in the fiery pits of hell and I have been for millenia, tormented by the impetuous lick of eternal flames. I have become vehement in my detest for all things ethereal.
I was once an angel - an angel closer to God than any other angel could have dreamed of being. I was handsome and clever - not one angel was there that did not know my name. But I was outwitted by my own intelligence, so here I am, cast down from the highest shelves of Heaven to inhabit the deepest chasms of the underworld.
My title may have left me, but my name still remains.
